Elon Musk endorses Andrew Yang for President

2020 Democratic presidential candidate and tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang scored a major endorsement this weekend from fellow tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, the founder of PayPal who now leads SpaceX and Tesla.

“I support Yang,” Musk tweeted in response to another tweet commenting on a post from Yang urging voters to have an open mind.

Elon Musk ✔ @elonmusk I support Yang

Musk’s tweet was a welcome endorsement for Yang, who has struggled to garner support in the crowded field of candidates in the Democratic primary.

While he has qualified for the third set of Democratic debates to be held in Houston in September, which featured higher thresholds to participate than previous debates, Yang remains a long-shot candidate who has made providing a universal basic income the centerpiece proposal of his campaign.

Musk agrees with Yang’s signature policy. It features handing out a “Freedom Dividend” of $1,000 a month to every American over the age of 18. Musk told one Twitter user the policy was “obviously needed.”

Well, that should do it. President Yang is inevitable.

Elon Musk endorses Andrew Yang for President

And thereby demonstrates that his critics are correct. He is an idiot.

No rational person would regard any of the collection of Democrat kooks as capable of winning an election anywhere outside of an asylum.

This is excellent. Instead of going with one of the candidates polling in the teens or 20s, Musk picks a third tier guy. More better factions.

Idiot thinks socialism will work if you just get the right people to run it.

Idiot is an idiot.

And this is one reason why South Africans might not be a good fit in the United States. Too socialistic.

RCP has Yang at 2.2%, this could shoot him to 2.3!

A thousand bucks with zero welfare is a big savings in the long run. Heck just what we spend on housing in section 8 would equal big savings.

By the way, I am actually a socialist. Just not the kind that shifts resources from most productive to least productive, pretending to do good, while actually causing harm. True socialism seeks greatest good for all.: Elon Musk Twitter account

True socialism seeks greatest good for all.

Oh nonsense.

At it's very best socialism seeks to help the majority.

Of course taken to the logical conclusion that means that you will throw 49% of the population in the pot to feed the 51%.

At it's worst it is a bunch of swaggering tin plated dictators with delusions of godhood.

If your post was an endorsement of Yang, I’ll let someone else try to explain why replacing one system of thievery with another system of thievery is not a good solution.

A thousand bucks with zero welfare...

It would never happen that way. The thousand bucks would start up immediately, and the welfare would continue with the promise of an eventual phase-out. But the phase-out would never happen.

It would be sort of like Reagan's 1986 amnesty which was sold on the promise of Congressional action to secure the border. We have all seen how well THAT turned out.

And by the way, Yang has stated that the money would only be available to citizens. By today's standards, that's racist, so the money handout would have to go to illegals as well.
