I’m not a skydiver, but to me 30 seconds without a SPLAT at the end doesn’t compute.

At 103 you’re probably past worrying about death.

the oldest to successfully skydive. One can't help but wonder about the older one who UNsuccessfully skydived... (skydove?)

“To celebrate her 103rd birthday, her son Warren, a frequent jumper, decided to take his mom with him...”
I wonder if there is a significant inheritance involved in this equation? Next year he will want to take her snake hunting in Australia.

Takes a lot longer to come down from 10k than 30 sec’s - more like minutes. I don’t know how long the free-fall was what with her age.

She’s apparently an active senior.

She also set a record for having a kid at 84.

I’m surprised some insurance company didn’t deny her. They write dozens of pages of restrictions and limits.

I had a few friends who went skydiving several times. I went with them, put a chute on, went up in the plane and didn’t jump out. Hadn’t planned to because I had kids at home.
But oh, my, it looked like huge fun. When I’m 100 (which my doc says I will be), I’ll do it then. GHWBush did on his 100th.

approximately 150/200 mph drop speed will get you down from two miles in short order.

Not if you are using a tandem parachute which in this story was used. You can hang-time quite awhile with them.

Wow pretty amazing to be doing that at 103, the same age as Madonna.

You forget there’s a 103yo woman attached. I fly a jump plane and have seen sports para’s come down like crazy and the Goliaths hang for what seems like eternity before flare to landing.

“oldest to successfully skydive.”
Do they keep records for those unsuccessful?
