Aug. 20 (UPI) -- An Iowa family's 5-year-old bovine has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's shortest bull, standing at only 26.6 inches high.
Heikens Ark Jupiter, aka Humphrey, was purchased by the Gardner family of Kelona in May 2017, and it was only after buying him that they discovered he wasn't a calf, he was a fully-grown 3-year-old miniature zebu bull.
"It's hard for people to believe there are animals so small who are full-sized," owner Shelly Gardner said. "Most people, when they think of a bull, think of a large animal and he is not that by any means!"
Humphrey was officially measured by a veterinarian at 26.6 inches tall, 1.5 inches shorter than the previous record holder, a California bull named Chegs HHAR Golden Boy.
We’ll, yer comment led me to assume that if folks are actually breeding these little cattle, there have to be females as well as males. So somewhere there are perfectly sized females for the likes of Humphrey to fall in love with. No stump needed.
BRILLIANT!
Lol!
I’ll drink to that!.....................
He’s so cute! I’m only 5’ tall, so I could REALLY lord my height advantage over him - versus me getting my MULE to do what I ask of him, LOL!
Lots of cute mini-breeds of this and that out there, though I understand that they sometimes have major health issues, which makes sense when you’re messing with genetics.
Yea, unless of course He's the kind who's thirsty for a "Tall Drink of Water"!
I live/lived in IA for 63 years and never heard of Kelona. So did a search and no such thing was found. I wonder if they meant Kalona?
And a midget production of "Carmen" follows, as tiny flowers bloom after the rain.
Most likely...........Journalist skoolze don’t have a geography credit requirement...................or math...................or science............or history...............
