Hollywood Actor Peter Fonda Dead at 79

On Friday, the family of 79-year-old Hollywood actor Peter Fonda announced that he had died.
“It is with deep sorrow that we share the news that Peter Fonda has passed away,” the family told People Magazine Friday afternoon. “[Peter] passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 16 at 11:05 a.m. at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by family. The official cause of death was respiratory failure due to lung cancer.”
“In one of the saddest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our hearts. As we grieve, we ask that you respect our privacy,” they wrote, "and, while we mourn the loss of this sweet and gracious man, we also wish for all to celebrate his indomitable spirit and love of life. In honor of Peter, please raise a glass to freedom.”

Hopper, I must say, had a certain dramatic style about him:
After staging a “suicide attempt” (really more of a daredevil act) in a coffin using 17 sticks of dynamite during an “art happening” at the Rice University Media Center (filmed by professor and documentary filmmaker Brian Huberman),[23] and later disappearing into the Mexican desert during a particularly extravagant bender, Hopper entered a drug rehabilitation program in 1983.
Hopper, was a fine actor, director, and writer. Probably more talented than Peter Fonda. Although I think Fonda had talent, he was just lazy and could have been a much better actor.
Hopper gave so many memorable performances- Apocalypse Now, Giant, Blue Velvet, Speed, and Easy Rider of course.

He was just a mere entertainment figure.
Fonda co-wrote “Easy Rider,” released in 1969. The following May the Kent State shootings took place.
Not much grace, but hey whatever right......
That would be bizarre if Rob Reiner passed away suddenly. His father Carl is still alive and well, in his 90s.
