FULL TITLE: FBI launches an investigation and AG Barr announces a DOJ probe after pedophile Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide by hanging himself in prison ahead of his sex trafficking trial
Jeffrey Epstein has hanged himself inside his New York City jail cell.
The billionaire pedophile was found in cardiac arrest shortly before 7am on Saturday at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan.
He was rushed to nearby New York Downtown Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In a statement, Metropolitan Correctional Center told DailyMail.com that the FBI is now launching an investigation into Epstein's death.
The former financier, 66, was awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy and sex trafficking and was being held at the high-security complex without bail.
Epstein - who once boasted an array of high-profile friends including Prince Andrew and President Bill Clinton - was arrested on July 6, accused of arranging to have sex with dozens of underage girls at his residences in New York City and Florida between 2002 and 2005.
He had plead not guilty to the charges.
Epstein's suicide comes just two weeks after he was hospitalized following what may have been an initial attempt to take his own life.

I don’t think the ‘initial’ suicide attempt was anymore that than the second apparently successful one was.
This guy got off previously for the same kind of rap, without much time served. He was probably arrogant enough to think that he’d get off again.

Sometimes you just have to shave with Occam’s razor, and look at it this way - the document release was just the public side of his trial. He knew he was very likely going to spend life in prison, and the document release shattered any dream he had of having a (nonexistent, really) chance of avoiding that. Therefore, he killed himself.
Until detailed information appears about the exact manner of suicide and whether others had access to his cell in the critical time period, I’m good with that. But the folks who have their knickers twisted about Trump were sure this was going to be the end of him, and now as the end of Epstein, they have to redirect that maniacal energy, so they will spin ten thousand conspiracy theories. Ugh.

Jail cell suicides go way back, I just saw one of Ming the Merciless’ women fake a JAIL hanging in FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE! She kills the guard and escapes.
Always remember, boys n girls, that when a subject refuses to buy the farm, before you put his name on the mailbox, you must arrange have him step in some manure or get soil under his fingernails at least once so everyone at least thinks the man wants to be a farmer.
