... swindled Amazon by filling up the ordered items boxes with dirt and registering with the exact weight of the product. He would then receive a refund from Amazon and sell the original item
The return packages would end up sitting around in Amazons warehouses where they arent checked often.
The report states the success of the alleged scam by Kwarteng, who has been released on bail, enabled him to create his own company.

Kwarteng? Was he previously a Klingon on STNG?
Fascinating.
That was a dirty trick.

Somehow “success” and “bail” don’t go together well in the same sentence.
Looks like the kid has the dirt on Amazon.
This kid is destined to be a U.S. senator.
Seems to me like either Amazon’s Returns department is set up very stupidly, or he had inside help.
Paydirt.

Something sounds fishy about this story. I’ve returned various items to amazon. I typically get two notices. One almost immediately when the package is received for return at UPS, etc. The second follows later as a refund for the particular item. I presume this is when the package is actually opened to confirm I returned what was stated in the return authorization.
That the package weighs the same is irrelevant. I might get a package with 5 items, but return only one item. The return will e lighter.
Soilyent green.
But dirt? How could you now know it was not the real item?
How do you know that it was not ore high in Lithium?
Yeah, I’ve seen some of those videos too.
A friend of mine received several shipments of dirt a year ago. The dirt was allegedly on the pitcher’s mound at Dodger Stadium when the Astros won the 2017 World Series. Part of me wonders if this wasn’t a scam.
Cheaters are everywhere.
Something like this happened to me about 3 months ago. Ordered some VR goggles, and the box was stuffed with rocks. Returned it and ordered a replacement. This time, I got an old, used, out of date pair of goggles. So I contacted Amazon and said you are getting scammed by people returning crap.
I have a tale just the opposite of yours. Ordered some military surplus MREs for a camping trip, so we wouldn’t have to cook if we didn’t want to.
The shipping info said it would be rations packed in 2016 and inspected in 2019. What I go instead were rations whose boxes were marked: Date Packed 9/12/2018.
I’m wondering if it is legal for DOD to release military MRE’s that are less than a year old. Perhaps some contractor is scamming the army?
