...Consumers, men in particular, must be made to feel worthless. They have to be reminded that their needs and desires are wrong under any circumstances, that their instincts are loathsome, that their very existence is a malignancy, and that they're responsible for all the world's ills whether they want to admit it or not.
Now give them your money, you piece of garbage.
But hey, maybe I was wrong. Maybe this was a good idea. How is it working out for Gillette? Douglas Ernst, Washington Times:
Gillettes infamous toxic masculinity ad may cost Procter & Gamble more than anyone imagined in January.
The year that Gillette launched its We Believe campaign and asked Is this the best a man can get? has coincided with P&Gs $8 billion non-cash writedown for the shaving giant.
That's 8 billion. With a b.

You should try the razors. One pull with the grain, and your face is smooth. With the Jill-ettes I had to run with and against the grain a few times to get a smooth shave.
It wasn’t all men they insulted. Just White men. They had a Black man making him behave.
I want this to be a great schadenfreud moment but I dont think it really is. But Im not a CPA, just a guy who took an accounting class 20 years ago so I could easily be wrong.
Gillettes CEO and president, Gary Coombe, is an idiot. Business is business and the board of directors should fire and sue him for 5B. And then they need to go after the other leadership at Gillette including their SJW Female President of Marketing who came up with this fiasco.
Sushant Trivedi is the Senior brand manager for Gillette for the WOKE generation
Sorry, but I seriously doubt it was due to the ad.
Dollar Shave Club
Cheaper and just as good
Maybe people should boycott at Gillette Stadium this fall.
It’s just Proctor & Gamble living up to its logo.
I’m done w/ their products. Hard to avoid, though, given everything they own.
Best thing to do is buy private label, as store brands are kicking branded products ass. This about groceries, but same applies to HBO products: “Store Brands Cut Into Big Food”

I have used barbasol cream all my life and tried their blades.... excellent... mail order only... eBay has them at a good price
BIC makes a superior product. My whole family now bans NIKE. (Fila makes a better shoe.) We’re very happy with our choices.
Declining 11 of past 12 quarters
No question the ad campaign failed and failed badly
That psycho feminist bitch from Australia whos done this before was behind this ad pitch
WTF were Proctor and Gamble marketing heads thinking......hiring these estrogen deprived freaks..below......
article on who produced the toxic masculinity ad campaign here
I’ve had a beard since ‘78
so I’ve got no pokers in this fire,
And I ain’t shaving no private parts
but Gillette’s marketing has been
incredibly tone deaf and just plain stupid.
I now go out of my way to not buy their products.
Same here. I was a customer since the friday night fights which they advertised on. No longer, and I am not coming back. PandG is one of those SJW companies. Good for them. If I could find something better than Tide, I’d use it too.
Buncha pro homos at DSC as well

Theyre not stupid.
Youre right...probably 99% of men just shave their faces, and a blade can be used a few times. Women, on the other hand have hair growing in every orifice of their bodies as well as under arms, legs, etc. A blade has a much shorter life when a woman is using it. New marketing campaign possibly in the horizon.
Persil is better than Tide. About the same cost. A local TV station tested them and Persil is better.
I have been using it for maybe six months and can tell a difference. Tide has recently come out with a new formula. I have no idea how good it is.
