New York (CNN Business)Burger King will start selling its meatless Whopper across the United States on August 8, the biggest rollout for Impossible's plant-based product. The burger chain has been selling the Impossible Whopper, featuring a meatless patty made by Impossible Foods, in a few markets in the United States since April. It first tested the product in St. Louis before announcing in May that it would offer the Impossible Whopper nationally this year. Interest in plant-based protein has surged as many people try to reduce their meat intake for health or environmental reasons. US retail sales of plant-based foods have grown 11% in the past year, according to a July report from trade group Plant Based Foods Association and the Good Food Institute, a nonprofit that supports plant-based businesses. The Impossible Whopper has been performing well, Chris Finazzo, Burger King's president for the Americas, told CNN Business.
"It's driven new guests into the restaurant," he said, noting that most of those customers either haven't been to a Burger King in a long time or haven't visited one at all. "We're really excited to be able to attract that customer."

Not if you get the Protein-Style burgers (and use Mustard instead of the Spread), and don't get the fries or shakes.
Why do veg-heads who don’t want to eat meat, want a substitute that tastes like meat?
I will have to try this. I’ve had ONE veggie burger that was really good, from a little eatery in a shopping mall. It wasn’t anything like a real hamburger, but it was good.
But just ONE. All the others were horrible.
GROSS
I have no desire to try it.
I’d much rather eat a slice of Hindu sacred symbol any day. Make that a double.
Good question!
No sale!
They are trying to turn us all into soy boys. No Thank You.
Probably because they grew up eating meat and still have a taste for it.
(And some people have given up meat simply because they think it’s unhealthy, not because they don’t like it.)
I haven’t hit BK in a long time (lost 35 lbs since March), but if they bring back the Texas Double Whopper I’m in for at least one.
I ask myself the same question. And then I see polls showing Obama is considered the best president EVER by college students. And Vogue has a photo fest with MOOCHELLE and ignores Melanie Trump. And Hillary is still around.
Well, I’m sure you get my point. We have a whole bunch of deaf, blind and smell/taste impaired lemmings living la vita bobocha
The market for these isn't hardcore vegans. It's people who eat meat but want to eat less of it for health reasons, or who still like meat but don't like the environmental impact of raising it, who make this a viable product in the marketplace. The demand is there.
GAG! No thanks-I don’t even eat processed food, fast food or other frankenfood, and certainly not empty carb bread/buns. I’ll grill a nice grass-fed beef patty, top it with real cheese, and fix a side of fresh, organic veggies-yum! Their “real” beef patty is made of pink slime/meat product anyway-it is just barely beef...
Guys shouldn’t consume soy protein or other soy products-it is full of naturally occurring female hormones-avoid it unless you want to become a soyboy...
I would be willing to try it like you suggested. They are THAT GOOD
Also watch out for organ shrinkage.
Amen! Nothing beats grass-fed beef.
>>>Whatever you do, dont try their $1.00 Taco!!!<<<
I did, and my dog wouldn’t even eat it. He had standards.
