ust in case youre tempted by that adorable wild creature
dont pet the bobcat in the park.
The National Park Service posted a public service announcement Wednesday telling people that bobcats are not pets.
They advise that visitors to the parks should resist the urge to pet and hold young bobcats, regardless of how cute they might be. They can claw and bite.
Keep wildlife wild says the park service.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission includes bobcat (Lynx rufus) on its list of wild animals in the state.
The National Park Service maintains three areas in Southwestern Pa.: Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville; Fort Necessity National Battlefield in Farmington; and Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site in Cresson.

Years ago I bought a husqvarna chainsaw. In the owners manual, I kid you not was this warning:
"Do not attempt to stop spinning blade with hands or genitals."

Then there was that foolish woman in Berlin who thought it would be a good idea to jump into the polar bear enclosure to pet the cuddly animals.

Wait? You mean they aren’t pets? Should I not pet bisons, elk or cougars, too?

The risk of injury petting a bobcat is so miniscule as to be near impossible since the likelyhood of even observing a bobcat is near zero

I had a pet decented skunk about 50 yrs ago. Just like having a cat. It used a litter box.

Bobcats lay on my porch almost daily and sleep there at night. They have lost all fear of people.

You can go to a certain Dallas area park and have them come up to you. See my videos upthread.
