A major artificial intelligence (AI) conference will be held in Africa in 2020—because the organizers admit it will be more difficult for African researchers to get foreign visas to attend it elsewhere.
Organizers of the International Conference on Learning Representations will host it in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2020 as part of a bid to ensure more collaboration with scientists on the continent. Stringent visa processes and requirements often mean it’s difficult for African scientists to travel abroad and collaborate with their peers on projects or at conferences. It’s a problem that many Africans face when traveling globally: only three African countries rank above average on the 2018 index of the world’s strongest passports.
Yoshua Bengio, often regarded the father of deep learning and one of the conference’s organizers say foreign governments “could make it easier” for African researchers to visit. “It’s a lottery, and very often they will use any excuse to refuse access. RAY KURZWEIL wrote this really loooong weird thing - he calls it a novel - about “Danielle.” I archived it as an export doc in two parts.
It starts with Danielle at 0-1 years with Alice in Wonderland… and advances by years through her life. I am assuming Danielle may be an AI, and he is describing an example of the kinds of things used in programming her learning. He goes through a lot of unrelated vignettes, about many different topics, many of which are fascinating. But it is LONG - and at times it seems like he has diarrhea of thought and pen. I felt the need to archive it because it shows his perspective on world events and society. Yikes. I confess I did not read all of it, but scrolled and skimmed.

For myself, I am very concerned about an AI entity which is being introduced to the world with Alice in Wonderland being fed to it as the “breakfast of champions.” I have been nervous about AI not having the guard rails needed to make it safe for mankind to thrive together with AI. This “novel” did not soothe my disquiet.

In PART TWO, after peering into the mindset and perspective of one of the “great lights” of AI, Ray Kurzweil, and the way it seemed he was going to program an AI named Danielle. [He actually does not say that he is programming an AI... that was my deduction.]
I have been conscious of being rather unsettled at the prospect of AI in our future. From our Q digs, and from my digs on AI in particular, it appears that the people working on it do not seem at all to be very kind to the population of humans on earth. I forgot to mention my belief that GHWB was willingly complicit in losing to Clinton in 1992, because only a RAT President could get crucial globalist objectives: NAFTA and WTO ratified in the RAT controlled Senate.
Somehow Perot was involved in this, though probably unwittingly. Still his quitting the race when he might have won some significant electoral votes (precursor of Trump) was bizarre.

8) In the right’s echo chamber, Trump used the dems’ insanity to convinced the conservatives that they their 2A rights were under attack.
The 2A was never at risk. All that happened was Trump got the right to stockpile weapons and convinced the left to turn all theirs in.
9) Knowing, that a few years down the road, We are going to arrest the messiahs of the left, Trump wanted to make sure the dems didn’t have the ability to pose a significant revolt. So he convinced them that weapons were scary.
