Duquesne Light announced Thursday the creation of a new diversity strategy with the company’s first chief diversity officer: Sara Oliver-Carter. She starts Aug. 19.

Oliver-Carter will focus on company culture, community partnerships and diversifying the suppliers with which Duquesne Light partners.

“Our commitment to diversity and inclusion and its importance to our company, employees, customers and communities is unwavering,” Steve Malnight, Duquesne Light president and CEO, said in a statement.

“Sara brings exceptional leadership experience and her approach to creating a company culture that truly values the uniqueness of its employees, customers and suppliers will add tremendous value as we continue to expand programs and initiatives in this critical area.”

Oliver-Carter has more than 20 years of experience in human resources. According to her LinkedIn account, Oliver-Carter served as senior director for talent and diversity and inclusion for Penn State University since 2017. Before Penn State, Oliver-Carter worked in various human resources positions at Highmark, including vice president of diversity and inclusion.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Duquesne Light has nearly 1,500 employees and serves roughly 600,000 customers in Allegheny and Beaver counties.

The rates will be going up to pay for her salary, probably at least 6 figures, health and retirement, 5 more figures.

Then, her asst and the asst’s asst. salary and health benefits. Also travel benefits, including car and plane rides for seminars.

I was shocked to see an AA female. don’t white males usually get these jobs.

Glad to see all these companies investing in operations that have such high returns on their investments.

This means the increased hiring of individuals that are not competent and qualified for jobs based upon just the color of their skin. In a few years they’ll be losing money by the millions and service and power distribution will be significantly reduced.

The real rate hikes will come from when she says they must by from "diverse" suppliers even if the cost is twice as much.

Our entire culture is being stolen from us, right in front of our eyes. Makes me feel physically ill. This kind of thing is racist, through and through. White heterosexuals are in the crosshairs.

In a show of diversity, Duquesne Light jams its corporate head up its corporate rectum.

How in the HELL did Duquesne Light survive for 107 years, without a chief diversity officer?

It probably won't last another 107 years with one...

"The great hypocrisy of “diversity officer” positions are that they are 99% filled by blacks."

Shot and a goal...

This reminds me of the “Political Officers” they embedded everywhere in the Soviet Union.

The "Diversity Officer" position is nothing more than a way to get a black and a woman on a corporate board. The Diversity Officer position WILL ALWAYS go to a black woman. Two birds with one stone to appease the racial and gender bean counters.

China doesn't have this problem.

WTF is right. The company has one thing to do and that is to provide a service. Diversity is just another name for social activism and socialist agenda. These absolutely useless ideologues are no different than the political officers of the USSR. This country is rapidly going into the toilet.

That was UPenn, and the stkudent called a bunch of rowdy [mostly/all black] girls loitering outside his dorm window “water buffaloes”.

The Left never sleeps. They have found all kinds of ways to insinuate themselves into areas that were more right-leaning (and better run, BTW), like the business world. Corporate HR departments have become a haven for Leftists such as this "diversity" officer.
