Tonight during his rally, President Trump REPEATEDLY took the name of the lord in VAIN...!!!
Do you take your mothers name in vain Mr. President??? I tell you YOU DO NOT!!!! But tonight you DARE to take the Lord Gods name in vain!!! Do not be deceived....GOD is NOT mocked!!! Please, STOP it !
Deuteronomy 5:10-11 But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. You must not misuse the name of the LORD your God. The LORD will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.
Exodus 20:7 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.
Matthew 6:9 Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
This is a warning to all who think God will 'overlook' the act of blaspheming His name. HE WILL NOT. I will not matter if you are a street sweeper or the leader of the greatest Republic on earth......GOD will drop you like a stone.
Do not be deceived....GOD is NOT mocked!!! Please President Trump, I beg you....STOP it !
I did not hear what the president said, but I agree that it is important that our president revere God’s name and titles. There are some on this forum who do not and evenly boldly disrespect God on this very thread.
In 1 Timothy 1:13, Paul the apostle identifies himself as a former blasphemer, assumedly of Christ, since he was a strictly observant Jew before his conversion.
Like other acts of disobedience against God’s commandments, blasphemy puts a person in danger of Hell fire. Those who argue that God doesn’t care or is tolerant of this, ignore the severe warnings of scripture to their own peril.
According to Christ’s “Sermon on the Mount”, even calling another person a “fool” can lead someone to Hell. How much more disrespecting the Sovereign Ruler of the Universe?
Christ also warned that the unpardonable sin is a certain type of blasphemy. The appropriate reaction to such warnings should be a healthy fear of God—something lacking in the revilers on this thread. Unfortunately for them, their stubborn and hardened heart will probably lead them to Hell. Wish that everyone on this forum would not end up there, but alas many even among us will.
Admirably, our current president has asked for prayer many times and has demonstrated his dependency on God. I hope and pray that he repents of his error, because we need God’s blessings on him and our nation.
STFU, Democrat.
I guarantee that you'll be less cranky about things.
Geez. Get a life.
In what way did Pres. Trump use the Lords name in vain?
2011?
How do you know that’s true? Because it says so in the Bible. How do you know that every word in the Bible is true? Because the Bible says so.
Note: No disrespect for the Bible here, it’s just that it was written by men, who are naturally fallible. Most of it is probably true, actually.
This posters interpretation is probably a misunderstanding of the fact that underneath the name, there is a form,( Basic Hindu), in which case I agree with him. (I haven’t yet read what the POTUS actually said yet.)
Those who do evil in the name of the Lord would fit this definition.
You have wearied the Lord with your words. But you say, "How have we wearied him?" By saying, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delights in them." Or by asking, "Where is the God of justice?" Malachi 2:17 ESV
Ice Hole.
Steppenwolf hell! It was mother Maybelle’s boy Hoyt Axton that wrote and sang the song. John Kay just covered it.
Apparently, most FReepers on this thread have no problem with the fact that our use of language in public venues, has deteriorated terribly. Curse words which used to have been almost NEVER used in public, are now commonly used.. Those of us who were taught not to curse, and taught the same to our children, now just must stand by and watch standards fall. It’s a sign of the times, just as many social mores have declined drastically. Personally, I think it diminishes the Office, for POTUS to use coarse or blasphemous language in public. What is said in private is between him and whomever he’s talking with, but just as men used never to curse in front of women, even scoundrels just did NOT curse in public. (Yes, I know -— plenty of women nowadays turn the air around them blue on a regular basis). It’s the frog in the pot phenomenon; we become jaded after hearing it so often, nowadays. That does NOT make it okay, though. And for the record, anyone who has a relationship with the LORD, knows that while he is merciful and forgiving, He does NOT change His Word, His laws, or His opinion of sin. Snipe at me all you want -— my desire is to please God, not man.
No, the OP.
It’s posts like this that put the “mental” in “fundamentalist”.

We had us a mealy mouthed, self-pious
self-identified christian president,
named Jimmy Carter. How did that turn out?
P
not everybody is a religious crackpot. I don’t care. I’d vote for him twice if i could get away with it. Pretty sure thats a sin too.
What did he say?
Cryptic profanity and as applied, allusions are parallel. Allusions aren’t always profane.
It was shocking to hear. I wish he wouldn’t do that
What did he say, please post it or shut up.
