Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, who died at the age of 99 on Tuesday, was a Republican appointed by President Gerald Ford. But Stevens took a position that would make even many liberals blush: He called for repealing the Second Amendment.

I’ll just go ahead and self-censor on this one too.
He needs to have a stake driven into him to ensure that he doesn’t continue to vote Democrat.

LOL
My brain is so damaged I was hoping it was one of the old dems on the court now :)
He’s still dead?

Then:
Now:
Good riddance!
Got excited for a second, hoping it was Breyer, but not tears shed either way.
Died a bitter old partisan hack. Good Riddance.
That said, Kelo may be the worst opinion since Roe. It was utterly detached from the 4th Amndmentnand the intent of the Foundrers. So while I won't cheer at the death of JPS, I won't be speaking favorably about him ever.
Further if every Kelo-taking in America that wastes away is renamed as "The Memorial John Paul Stevens Blight" I wouldn't object.
That was another gem from this sterling prick.
Forgive my ignorance, sir, but what was kelo? I understand he was appointed by Jerry Ford, which was a little before I was born, so this is the first I’ve heard of it
I'd feel as comfortable peeing on this pig's headstone as I would peeing on Stalin's...Hitler's...Mao's...Ted Bundy's...or Juan McLame's headstone.
Don’t get me started on eminent domain. Many deep-rooted nasty memories there for me.
Carry on.
He did great damage to America and our values. Good riddance.
“Hes still dead?”
Yep, Stevens has been dead going on three or four days now.
I’ve gone thru my entire supply of popcorn, celebrating.
How’s your supply holding out?
Basically, in Kelo v. City of New London, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that it would be a Constitutionally-permissible "taking" if the state seized property for private development if it may spawn economic growth. In effect, Kelo legalized the government becoming a reverse Robin Hood who stole from the poor and gave (with "just compensation" nudge nudge wink wink) to the rich.
Kelo was absolutely f£*%#ng reprehensible.
No loss. Too bad it didn’t happen decades earlier
