Todays Cryptogram
MPU BEZYUX GBU XURHGB VUGVAU TRDA DB ADTU DH YUOREHU MPUF ADHMUB MG MPUDX TXDUBKH, TRZDAF, RBK BUDNPYGXH.---BRVGAUGB PDAA
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
A NATION DOES NOT HAVE TO BE CRUEL IN ORDER TO BE TOUGH. ---FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT
Back from vacation, 2 min.
Got it.
Started with ending letters...got one right. Then the MP digram, then I saw the notorious ABCADB word.
Digram? Is that like the notorious diphthong, an article of clothing use to hold chewing tobacco to the other end of the alimentary canal?
-PJ
Not even sure it’s a word. It may have been coined on this thread. But a 2 letter pairing, in this case a common one, of consonants, rather than vowels.
Fortunately, the locals hereabouts don’t know what a diphthong is, and the weather is not conducive to wearing a thong. ‘Cause I’m pretty sure that’s just what they’d do.
‘Weird’ one today.
Took a stab at last name instant I saw it, had wrong vowel but the ‘error’ showed up instantly and it rolled on from there just picking up blinding speed.
Digraph works better.
97 seconds. The frequency chart on the Hal form made this too easy. (If not that, I now have played enough that the 5th word would have done it too.)
