It does seem like we’re drifting towards CW2. Trump is a symptom not a cause. Libs will not very much like how it turns out if it happens.

“We’ve been in a civil war for decades.”

The first one never really ended...we are still stuck in the IRON FIST of the central government.

No, it ended, took state’s rights with it and set the stage for the oligarchy we are subjects of now.

The Fort Sumter moment will be an Antifa attack on 29 Palms.

I can hardly wait.

“...I know how much damage a single round from a 45 can do to the human body, and it is not a joke...”

Precisely...that’s the allure! If it gets that bad that lead starts flying then the more damage to the enemies body the better!

I would like to think the human quest for freedom never ends.

If one pictures any conflict as a 'traditional' war, with two armies lined up facing each other, then one worries about allegiance of the military.

But I believe it would be more of a guerrilla conflict. Picture Vietnam, not WW2.

The battles would not be conventional, the methods would not be conventional, and the targets would not be conventional.

The police and the military would only become targets if they chose to involve themselves. As for the police, think in terms of "How we burned in the camps..."

The military? Asymmetrical warfare.

I'm not advocating for that, of course. This is purely an intellectual exercise.

Not sure why everyone is either shocked, surprised or dismayed about the prospect of civil war. War - whether engaged against foreign and/or domestic enemies - is so natural it could be included as a 5th element along with earth, water, air & fire.

What is unnatural is the reluctance to engage with force against clear and present existential threats. Never in the entire history of mankind have a people ever willingly handed over their very birthright without a fight; the present cuck level breaks all established means of measurement.

What is perhaps different this time around is media weaponization. First explored in small doses, like all aspects of WWI (eg mass produced high capacity weapons), Goebbels' favorite author perfected the scientific methods of propaganda. How clever it is to gaslight an entire nation to suffer a mass invasion and surrender without even the slightest resistance.

I agree with what you’re saying, but I just think if things got to the point of shooting on a wide scale that the military, state national guard at least, would get involved.

First thing we need to do is close the airports so these people don’t get away.

Transfer/Reversal is one of the essential classical techniques of propaganda!

It's resisting a digital age version of Mao's Cultural Revolution that's "igniting a civil war" and not starting and waging that revolution that's igniting that civil war.

By the time it got that bad, it is more likely that military and political leadership is fractured along the lines of the parties in dispute. IOW, you might see mutiny rampant as soldiers refuse to fire on civilians and an officer corps hamstrung by politicians frantic to de-escalate.

Perhaps so, but I suspect their enthusiasm for the task would quickly disappear. It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to understand why.

They seem to be the only ones advocating violence on a huge platform.

If the right wing said that, it would be front page news.

These people should calm down, the only thing “burning down” is the Democrat Party.

Sounds about right and I’ll go a hundred percent on law enforcement being ready... The country’s tired of spoiled brats ginning up riots and burning down cities.

I know so very many totally delusional Trump hating liberals that I do believe WE are on the verge of a civil war, but it is not the kind most people think of.

I have many progressives people I know. Right now they are screaming to get the most radical Democratic Presidential candidate possible. They are incensed at Trumps election, have been resisting and yet hated Hillary supporting first Sanders then Jill Stein.

Again, their fringe candidate will be defeated by Trump. When that happens, I expect violence in the streets like Antifa protests. We are seeing cities like WA DC, Portland Oregon, Seattle WA, and others descending into chaos and violence.

It will be anarchy and not an organized civil war, except in certain liberal cities, where the police will quit and armed militias of crazy liberals will be deputized. The liberal enclaves will probably try to leave the Union and find out that they are no match for the power of the federal government.

Maybe some will relearn the lessons of the civil war of the 1860’s

It does.

Sometimes it just takes what seems like forever for freedom to reset.

What will be the triggering event this time around?
