Today’s Cryptogram

FLCTLW GLLP ETGWRLCW RT LWRZAHVWF RFLVC FLCTVX XCLPLGRVZHW. ITN GLLP WTELRFVGJ WXZCI RT TBLCXTEL. ---EZCJZCLR ZRQTTP

Today’s CG is courtesy of the Arkansas Gazette.

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

>>>I guessed at “ITN GLLP” and the rest slowly emerged.

I take it ITN either equals “The”, or “And”?

And does “-—EZCJZCLR ZRQTTP” at the end signify that the preceding is a quote from some reasonably well-known person?

The TH digram would fit with the contraction in post 16, which is likely ‘T or ‘S. The conjunction “but” is my first choice for a word after a comma. The combination of the three things would verify the T, H, N( from the contraction) which gives me the 2 “thanks, verified by the single letter word. I just noticed that IN occurs 4 times.

Yes, the words after the dashes are the author of the quote.

Good grief! I worked on this for 30 minutes, gave up! Came back later and gave it another 30 minutes! Gave up, again. Came back to it and spent 45 minutes and finally got it.

Whew!!! Perseverance pays off...

Looked difficult at first, but guessing the ‘e’ made it doable.
