And when the big dude takes the bludgeon or night stick away from the much smaller cop?

Then you roll away and reward him with semi precious metals.

That was an impressive size difference, wasn’t it?

This could have all been avoided if he’d just thought to ask to speak to a supervisor.

Further evidence of our failing Public Schools. This poor slob apparently only learned four words “I need a Supervisor” in all his years in school. LOL

“Backing away and waiting as the “always” answer for scary things, is the answer for people who are uninformed.”

He showed no sign of violent intention. And showed no physical resistance until the officer tried to impede him from re-entering the store.

Every PD and Sheriff in the country would advise the officer to keep him closely surveiled and wait for back-up....until/unless he tries to flee, damage property or hurt somebody.

Sir, you are the one that is uninformed.

Thank you. I would have written him for serious lack of judgement and sent him back to training on use of force and de-escalation.

ATM. Ask, Tell, Make. Not forty warnings.

The first time that monster told you that he is not going to give you his license, he is a “no” customer. That means step back, keep him in sight, and call for an assist.

Then verbal judo the hell out of him until your back up arrives.

That guy took control of the situation when he realized the officer was just going to continue to talk in circles, making demands there were never going to be met.

That guy was literally twice his size and if he really had wanted to hurt him, we would be talking about another cop funeral.

Getting your TASER stripped is a deadly force incident, period. However, you should have enough sense and training not to put yourself in a situation where you are going to get it stripped as easily. That’s why there is 21 feet of wire. It’s also why we train to strip that cartridge out when it is apparent that the suspect is not under the control of the ECD and get the second in, or back off, or transition to something else.

This was ate up like a warm soup sandwich.

Pinging DesertRhino to post #71.

Perhaps he will be edified and end his macho bluster.

I say again, there is not a Sheriff’s office OR PD in this entire country that would advocate their officers take the route of this cop. And many would formally reprimand him.
