Again....pit bulls. To dog apologists, I say: no comment.
Feral dogs are serious problem in a lot of Florida. Probably other states for all I know
This is strictly my memory but it seems some years ago when I lived in Florida there was a piece saying that Hillsborough County had something on the order of the quarter million cats and dogs that were living in the wild.
HST ... great feral repellant.
In our neighborhood dogs must be leashed. The only dogs that run loose are from the couple of illegal amigo depots close by. I guess if they are illegal then it is ok for their dogs to be illegal.
Now now.
There are rational people on this forum.
People who love dogs, and have their heads on straight.
Not one of those people who are rational however...ever gave any crap to Chet99 for his posts here.
A friend of mine just recently got a pit bull from a local animal shelter, and now just two weeks later she’s returning it because she said the dog is acting very aggressive and starting to bite. She has two young sons so the dog has to go. I know nothing about dogs, and specifically pit bulls. We’ve seen a number of fatal maulings over the past few years by pit bulls or pit mix breeds. Maybe it has a killer instinct that can’t be eliminated by domestication. Just awful for that man’s family!
Man really? you said the “P” word. prepare to die..
Another reason I carry a gun.
Not all ferals have two legs.
Another good reason for Constitutional carry.

AKC does not recognize a breed of dog called ‘pit bull’...
Rural Arizona here. City people come out to our little desert community and drop off their unwanted pets all the time. Ferals start showing up, but usually only two or three at a time. Feel sorry for ‘em but don’t want any.
I usually sit on the shaded porch and read, accompanied by a glass of wine. Pretty soon I drift off. Woke up one time because I felt something wet on my knee. Here’s the BIG dog checking me out. I wasn’t scared as he wasn’t aggressive and just talked to him in a conversational tone. He didn’t find anything interesting and just wandered off.
From then on, I bring out my Judge revolver along with my wine. Same thing when the wife brings the garbage over to the Community Dumpster on the corner - I ride “shotgun”, so to speak, from the porch.
After the 2nd time a pit bull attacked my lab puppy with no provocation, I got my concealed carry license and now carry all the time. I also avoid public dog parks due to irresponsible owners. If there is another instance like the first two, I will personally see to it that its fatal for the pit bull.
