The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
If you have specific question about a plant/problem you are having, please remember to state the Growing Zone where you are located.
This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Gardeners are welcomed any time!
After a picture is uploaded and you click on share, you will get a bunch of choices. I use the last one called hotlink, just paste and drop in your post.
Pretty much the way imgur works.
Thanks again...
Paprika seeds are available on line and in most seed catalogs. I think two or three plants would produce all the peppers required to make a pint jar of dust.
When you dry and grind, make sure the peppers are completely dry. Otherwise youll have a clean up issue with your grinder.
Nice, and I like your picking bucket too. I got half of one of those of wild blackberries last evening, but for every one I picked I swear I got a mosquito bite. There will be a lot this year and I really want to make a pie.
LoL... Have you tried to find a metal 2 pound coffee lately? The bottom is rusted out of this one...
The ruffled edges were a bit crisp and held the little
rivulets of melted butter and maple syrup...delicious.
We had one of those articulated (?) bird feeders and Mama Bear mutilated it not once but twice and it sits on the ground over by the wood pile...
Oh My... I may have to unfriend you for posting this photo. Every Saturday morning a flock of us Old Timers meet at the local Dennys and five of us have pancakes and the sixth one has bacon & eggs over his pancakes...
I’m Jonesin’ for some Zucchini Pancakes! Beau and I eat them nearly every DAY when the Zukes are over-producing.
Best recipe I’ve found to date, ‘Printer Friendly’ page:
Assorted Herbs, Kale, Coneflower, Scarlet Runner Bean blossoms & Coreopsis. My Sister gave me the 'Plant Manager' sign when I managed a Jung Garden Center. :)
Mostly warm and sunny here in Central Missouri over the past week. We did have a line of storms come through early last week that dumped a bunch more rain. It’s been nice not having to water the garden, but I can’t keep up with the weeds.
I need to harvest the garlic patch this week. If I can find it.
I had to spray the peach trees for japanese beetles last week. I was a few days late noticing the invasion so I lost some fruit. Normally they attack the contorted filbert before the peaches. This time they left the filbert alone. Anyway, 99% of them are dead now. I’m hoping I don’t have to spray again as the peaches are almost ready for harvest.
Mmmmmm....yummy recipe.....thanks.
Thanks! I will try it!
Thank you!
Thanks but I’m 86 and the one I have has a few more years left in it plus I may have one or two up in the shed...
