DES MOINES, Iowa (Reuters) - Joe Biden is still the front-runner in the Democratic presidential race, but the crown is slipping.On a two-day holiday visit to Iowa, the state that kicks off the White House nominating fight in seven months, Biden was greeted by new polls showing his lead narrowing in the state and nationally after a wobbly performance in last week’s first debate. Biden’s halting response to a bruising debate attack on racial issues from rival Kamala Harris, a black U.S. senator from California, has some Democrats in Iowa rethinking their support for the former vice president.

Just about the only reason anyone has to vote Biden is because he’s not quite as insane as the rest of the D commies, Nazis, and nutjobs. However he’s still got lots of deficiencies and especially getting any female votes. He’s a clear loser imho when it comes to getting elected after all his groping and additional issues. As I have been posting, Biden will not survive Iowa, at least not as a viable candidate. His sole reason for existence as a candidate besides name recognition is electability and that has been demolished.

Bernie Sanders shares the age deficiency with Biden, further, his entire program has been co-opted by the rest of the field. There is no reason to designate a late stage septuagenarian as a standardbearer when there are plenty others already bearing that standard.

I believe the field is now reduced to Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren with the edge clearly going to Kamala Harris. Elizabeth Warren's leftist slant on populism is a threat to eclipse Trump's brand of populism because she will give more away but she carries a lot of personality defects which are offputting as evidenced by her home videos and her bizarre Pocahontas act. The excesses of the rest of the Democrat field in giving the ranch away to buy votes renders Elizabeth Warren's giveaway prescriptions more vulnerable to attack. She will try to mask the giveaways as reforms of big business while Trump emphasizes reforming government.

Kamala Harris remains the one to watch, the main question being whether she is palatable to suburban females. If she shows well there, she becomes electable and a real threat in the general. If she slips and betrays her true nature, people were find her repugnant.
