Devastating. Too many of us have seen these situations. The rate of DWI/DUI deaths has come down but it doesn’t help here or in other situations.

Driver was Neil Singhal, 69, behind the wheel of a 2014 BMW. No photo I could find in the article. Police said the victim’s bike had front and rear lights and that the driver was operating the vehicle while “impaired.”

I really dislike headlines like this.
They insinuate that her life is a greater loss than some kid who was a good person but happened to be a C student and did not aspire to the USMC.
If someone had run over me at that age, the headline might have read, “he was a nice guy, but he had no ambitions and would just end up being a salesman. Tut tut”
It is the tragic loss of a young life that cannot be fulfilled. Isn’t that enough? Isn’t that what matters?

Why is this anymore news than anyone else who is killed by a drunk driver?
