Not to spoil your summer pool fun, but outbreaks of "crypto," a swimming-related diarrheal illness, are on the rise, according to a new report.
Cryptosporidium causes profuse, watery diarrhea that can last up to three weeks, according to the CDC. The parasite is the leading cause of outbreaks tied to recreational water use, such as swimming in pools and lakes. The organism is protected by an outer shell that allows it to survive even in chlorinated water for up to 10 days or more

I’ll self-censor on this one too.
Linked to swimming pools?
Or linked to third worlders that now use those swimming pools for more than swimming and aquatic sports?
I loath posted video. I thought it might be the very very rare video on FR that was useful/instructive/purposeful. It wasnt. But it was caddyshack so therefore I’ll forgive you:)
Just yesterday I refreshed my memory of the Milwaukee outbreak of 1993. In that outbreak 50% of those served by the Howard Ave. Treatment Plant fell ill. This amounted to 25% of the entire area served by the city of Milwaukee treatment facilities or over 400,000 cases.
I loath posted video.
I did include the running time?
To actually post a GIF, that takes time and effort.
How about a nice cat video?
Word is that everyone loves them.
Crapto?
Now you are talking!
But that is a kind of an enigma?
Crapto?
You are very close to the root cause!
I’m not a cat video fan. The issue is that often what someone tells me on video could easily be put into text. I can read faster than someone can tell me something.
I remember the swimming pool scares about POLIO back in 1955.

Nah...just observe all the homeless in San Francisco, Seattle, etc. They are all local born folks, strung out on dope, booze.
Crypto was Superboy’s dog.
Bingo.
Agree, my FRiend.
If I can't read it, I move on.
That said, Caddyshack outtakes are permitted.
I lived in Milwaukee during the crypto outbreak.....just miles from the water treatment plant. It took forever for the city to acknowledge the problem. Over 400000 people affected and 100 deaths. And the city encouraged us to drink more water, you know, so we wouldn’t become dehydrated.
I can read faster than someone can tell me something.
Very true.
