The CDC is advising folks in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island to avoid eating whole, fresh papayas from Mexico. They also say not to eat fruit salads or mixes including Mexican papayas.
If you encounter papayas and have doubt about their country of origin, the CDC says to be on the safe side and throw them out. The agency recommends washing and sanitizing places where papayas are stored, including counter tops and refrigerator shelves.
Meanwhile, the US Food and Drug Administration wants importers, suppliers, distributors and other food service providers to halt sales across all states of papayas imported from Mexico.
Those who are infected can develop diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps between 12 and 72 hours following the initial exposure. Patients usually recover on their own in less than a week, but some people do need to be hospitalized.

Said every democrat everywhere.
Thanks, Ben.
I’m starting to see a pattern here where nations are poisoning Americans with produce/beverages/food.
Too bad this has been the worst planting season in over a generation. Americans used to know how to help & feed themselves.
Poopie on the Paypaya.....it’s the new in-style, “diversity” dish from Mexico. Enjoy!!!!
thankfully it wasn’t those precious avocados
I also try to avoid Mexican produce. Unfortunately, almost all tomatoes available in supermarkets in my area (Southern California) are from Mexico--even those at high-end supermarkets like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Sprout's. Virtually all Roma tomatoes are from Mexico.
Sprout's and Trader Joe's sometimes carry beefsteak and heirloom tomatoes grown locally or imported from Canada. Otherwise, I look for them at farmer's markets.
>>>Cavi brand, distributed to wholesalers in New York<<<
Papaya King must be freaking out.
“Damn Italians :)”

I’ll go to confession.
