Tiffani O'Brien, of Ontario, Canada, said she fell asleep in an empty row of seats on her short flight home from Quebec City to Toronto. She awoke hours later around midnight still strapped to her seat and all alone on a cold, dark plane.
O'Brien said she texted her friend, Deanna Dale, who drove her to the airport in Quebec City earlier that day. Dale told CTV News she called customer service at Toronto Pearson International Airport to tell them her friend was trapped on the plane.
She found a flashlight and turned it on, directing the light out of the windows of the plane in hopes someone would see it.
She then used the flashlight to find the main door of the plane and managed to get it open, but the drop to the tarmac below was too steep.
So she sat in the opening with her legs dangling out and flashed the light on the side of the plane to create a reflection, hoping it would catch someone's attention in the distance.
Eventually, a grounds crewman driving a luggage cart spotted her and helped her down.

I did that back and opposite the toilet thingy one time ...its amazing the number of men who just walk back out half undone and still “arranging” their clothes as though they are in their own homes..
(BLUSH)
Since then Ive made sure I was at a modest distance ...
[[I think Id have made my way to the cockpit and tried to see if I could fire the sucker up.]]
Do you recall the fella that took a jet for a joy ride a number of years back?
[[How come nobody saw her all day ???]]
Well duh, when You’re asleep- you’re invisible- i thought everyone knew that?
If you read her version of the story it’s as if she survived Hiroshima. She is having flashbacks, insomnia, PTSD, afraid of enclosed spaces, etc. In other words, lawyer shopping.
Nobody had booked any of the seats in that whole row for the later flights ???
The air stewards didn’t check the plane once all day ???
Nobody checked to make sure everyone was off the plane all day ???for any of the subsequent flights ???
No other passengers noticed a woman sleeping when they came on board for a later flight ???
She didn’t have to pee for several hours ??? Especially if it was alcohol ???
The plane left Quebec City at 10.30am It got dark in Toronto about 9PM...she slept for about 12 hours ??? no need to pee ??? didn’t get hungry ???
etc etc
In a day or two someone will find her! She is definitely going to find food & water on the plane, if not water just go to the bathroom
I don't get what the big fuss was about?
I think I’d probably thought of that about three drinks in, just to eff with them. If I could figure out where the parking brakes were, I’d have taxied out onto the interstate to see what the local constabulary would have done. Would that be a DUI, grand theft, evasion, or flying without a license? And how the hell do you signal a passenger jet to pull over to the shoulder from a police car? *snicker* Then, just for kicks, pull into a Pilot (Get it? Get it?), Flying J (Get it? Get it?) or a Jet Pep (Well, you get it) truck stop, and tell the attendant to top it off with 130 octane.
Hah!
“She did not notify the airline that she would need a babysitter.”
Looking through the comments section at the article, I nominate this one for the winner.
Not surprising. We flew air Canocrap on this route a few years ago. They had this makeshift terminal with passengers for about 15 flight jammed in there. No place to sit or stand and a few hundred people hanging out in a terminal as narrow as a doublewide for hours tend to smell.
What stands out most is that they don’t really try hard, especially if your flying to the US.
Not the worst air travel experience, but close.
You have to be a “Twilight Zone “ fan to get it. I got it immediately, LOL!
LOL!
Don't they have 9-1-1 in Canada?

“If the plane is not cleaned between trips it means the pillows are RECYCLED!!!”
... and trash in the seatback pockets.
Airplanes are just flying petri dishes nowadays.
Good one!
Her luggage arrived but they lost her.
