Two more Americans a man from Kansas and a woman from Pennsylvania died during vacations in the Dominican Republic, amid a recent spate of tourist deaths in the country, according to a new report.
The families of Chris Palmer a 41-year-old Army veteran from Kansas who died on April 18, 2018, and Barbara Diane Maser-Mitchell, a 69-year-old retired nurse from Pennsylvania who died on Sept. 17, 2016 came forward to Fox News to report their deaths.
The State Department confirmed the deaths to the network Thursday.
Both Palmer and Maser-Mitchell died of heart attacks, according to official determinations by Dominican authorities, the report said.
Palmer was staying at the Villa Cocotal Palma resort in Punta Cana, according to Fox News. Hed been working at a Mexican resort and went to the Dominican Republic in hopes of selling timeshares and teaching scuba diving there, friends and family said.
He was a salesman and scuba diving instructor who loved traveling, his daughter, Meghan Palmer, told Fox.
In reports given to Palmers family, obtained by the outlet, Dominican authorities said that he had pulmonary edema. But those who knew him feared that wasnt the whole story.
As soon as he died, I wondered if he was poisoned, if he was drugged, Bernadette Hiller, his one-time girlfriend who remained a close friend, told the network. He was healthy as a horse.

Ok, the fact is, sometimes people die on vacation, it happens.
So I think they may be going a bit overboard here.
I still wouldn’t go there.
I think the alcohol has been tainted.
Has anyone done the math on number of Americans visiting DR, their average stay and normal death rate of Americans? This might be like the Dilbert cartoon where Dogbert outrages the boss by telling him that 40% of the sick days are taken on Monday and Friday...which is what you would expect.
That’s why I stick to beer. They can’t mess that up, right?
Stay away from s-—hole countries.
The vacation you will remember for the rest of your life.
DR Tourism Chief: Laides and Gettlemen. If you’ll please bear with us we are experiencing techincal difficulties.
I hope not!!
But, some over there(hotels, etc) are tainting the alcohol.
People are just dying to go there.
Either way, I’m staying home.
I wouldn’t go there for a lot of reasons.
But this is starting to sound like the “shark attack” stories. I don’t have the numbers, but let’s say on average 10 Americans are attacked by sharks. Like clockwork. Every year. Once every 5 years or so the media searches for something to write about and starts counting the number of shark attacks — Seven of them! OMG! Eight of them! Oh! Oh! Nine of them! When will this ever stop! What’s causing it?? Is it Global Warming?? Now there’s ten attacks!!!
Man o man.
Has the USA government done something to the DR in recent times? What about drug lords?
Somebody has a bone to pick with America.
Have all of the deaths being reported been Americans? Nobody from other places?
Has the USA government done something to the DR in recent times?
it’s beginning to seem like a Clinton-NWO op.
Of course they can kill more Americans right at home via open borders
Some other island looking to cut into their business....Cuba?
I looked at DomRep and Haiti both thru the big eyes.
It felt too close then.
Unless you are being paid to go there, blow things up, and kill the inhabitants.
