CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania woman says she realized there was a bird in her can of spinach when she noticed a yellow beak in a lump of greens.
"I immediately felt like I was going to vomit," Cherie Lyons, of Chambersburg, told the York Daily Record. "I was sick for the next whole day."
Lyons said she found the bird June 14 after pouring the spinach into a bowl.
Lyons told the Daily Record she felt mistreated after calling Del Monte. She was offered a $10 check and a request for the bird to be sent back.

Yes, true, but the story didnt quite seem thats what had been done. Why not say it that way? Maybe something more like this, *I thought something was strange when I stirred the pot, so I emptied the spinach into a bowl. Thats when I saw the beak.*

My oldest daughter loved canned spinach that much and more, she would eat it cold out of the can for breakfast.

I like spinach, especially in things like spanikopita. But I can usually tell if fresh spinach was used as opposed to frozen or canned. Frozen can be useful in recipes; but I just can’t tolerate canned.
With Boiled eggs and vinegar. Very good. Never tried feathers, bones and offal.

Yeah, I grew up on canned spinach. Put a little black pepper and a pat of butter on that and I can eat a whole can.

Never done that with spinach, but vinegar is great on green beans.
