However, not everyone was laughing. Some were taking notes. Drinking water is typically highly regulated, and the market for buying and selling untreated water remains small and anecdotal. But the website Findaspring.com shows that raw water has since become a global movement of people seeking out their own wild water sources. Eager users list and map thousands of natural wells and springs across the world for people to drink from.

That's not spring water, that's creek water. And you are right, it used to be risky, now it is nearly certain to be host to microbes you don't want to ingest.
Actual spring water is straight out of the ground, except perhaps for a few feet of pipe.

Himalayan salt is mined in Pakistan.

Most of it is silly hype. But there are a few specific types which make sense.
Table salt is for sprinkling on food and for use in cooking.
Coarse salt has appeal for serving different dishes. Instead of being evenly spread out like table salt, it gives little bursts of salt every once in a while.
Kosher salt is best for dry brining meat. Its flat flakes are more quickly dissolved and absorbed.
Rock salt is for making ice cream.
As for most of the rest, it's just marketing.

How is this different from the private wells most of my neighbors have?
It's not.
My well is 8 casing 230 deep. The pump is set at about 200 deep. The water comes from an aquifer under the states of Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska. It test hard for minerals, comes out of the ground fairly cool, and tastes good. I drink it, wash in it, and soften it to wash clothes and my butt. I wouldnt drink water from a crick without a purifying filter or boiling the heck out of it. Beaver fever is a hard row to hoe. If you get it by stock in a toilet paper company and lotion for your arse.

Treated water from your local water works has all the electrolytes in it as from it source. It does not have all the things in it that make you sick. This is idiocy.
What we here in the my location call the bacteria injested when drinking from mountain streams. If you aint where its bubbling out of the ground something above you may haved crapped or died just up stream.
Just squeeze some out of the bass. That makes it extra natural.

I believe that is the point that was being made.
Slice your own at home (washed first) and use them right away and they are fine.
