Todays Cryptogram
GH HOC HBFWCPZBMC QOCPC HOC KHRPFK KHPBXC QBHO HOC FRKH UDPI, HOC KHDPVBCKH HPCCK GPC URDMV. ---GMRMIFRDK
Todays CG is courtesy of the Arkansas Gazette.
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. INFORMATION IS LIBERATING. KOFI ANNAN
Easy. The author’s name just jumps off the page.
Oh, Boy! I go to get a cup of coffee, come back and you have it solved already?!!!!
Amazing!
It wasn’t that easy. Good job.
Yes, the author gets you going, then you see the first two words, and “HOC” jumps out, and you’re off to scribbling like a mad person.
This is going to be like the INDY 500 today on time trial day. There will be many fast times.
BTW, anyone know anyone who can get our Daily Cryptogram on the “Free Republic Dailies”???
Another great quotation, that captures the essence of our beloved President.
Agreed. He Da Man!
About seven minutes. I did not even know one of the words ;-)
1:35. Renouned author!
3 min. Fun puzzled this morn.
5 min. That third word kept tripping me up.
And I mistook the last word for part of the name.
Had I adjudged the name correctly I’d have been done a lot sooner.
ha ha, With that statement, I picture you living in a mansion having to walk to the furthest end where the coffee maker is located.
CG took about 1:30 mins.Guessed the three letter words correctly, was filling in the letters smoothly and just as I was to lose momentum, Looked at the author and didn't miss a beat.
Yep, easy one, fast as you could fill in the letters after author and most common letter.

Went in with one thought in mind for the opener - usually I get hung up if not correct BUT this time I took a shot at the author and sure enough hit it and the rest came tumbling down like the walls of Jericho.
Now yesterday, I got ‘hung up’ on that last name and even today when looking at the results, I know that deep down inside, I would have NEVER come up with that combination even though I do recognize the author.....<: <:
3:33.08
Guess the three letter word, and you’re on your way.
1:48. The author gave it away.
1:48. The author gave it away.
My first double post! Now Iget how it happens.
