A hand-drawn map in lieu of any hard data? Draw your own conclusions. And the photo by the official Islamic Republic News Agency (!) claimed to have been the Global Hawk being shot down over Iranian territory was a fake.

19A. IRAN has been accused of using a fake photo in an attempt to ‘prove’ a US drone was over its territory before being shot down. State-run IRNA news agency shared an image of a damaged drone falling to Earth to illustrate its report.

19B. But in a shocking twist it subsequently emerged that the same image - albeit in a wider crop - was previously used on a report of a drone being shot down over Yemen two years ago.20. Looks to me like there’s a pretty clear pattern here. We’re supposed to take their claims about this incident at face value? Uh, no. Oh, BTW, the Obama regime apologists for Iran would fit right in with them on that score, wouldn’t they? Birds of a feather.

21. Now let’s review. The Iranians claim that the Global Hawk was shot down in Iranian airspace. What is their evidence? A hand-drawn picture of the supposed flight path and a photo that was subsequently proven be of a different incident. Hmmmm.

22. Since the Global Hawk was shot down by a radar-guided surface-to-air missile, there will be radar data available to prove (or disprove) that claim.

23. Yet none has been forthcoming from the Iranians. Why? Could it be that the radar data disproves their claims, and that the RQ-4 wasn’t in Iranian airspace after all?

27. Sorry, conspiracy theorists. I’m going with the CENTCOM flight path and telemetry information. That Global Hawk was shot down in international airspace at 21 miles off the Iranian coast.

28. Iran apologists can split hairs about whether the Global Hawk adhered precisely to UNCLOS transit provisions if they wish. That is immaterial. What really counts is where the RQ-4 was shot down. Produce the DATA to prove it was inside Iranian airspace. We’ll wait.

29. Better yet, get the Iranians to produce the radar intercept data from their SAM launch themselves (they used a sophisticated system and have the data), as I suspect it will definitely prove the Global Hawk was in international airspace.
