I love casinos but stopped going 3 years ago. Getting older and don’t want to spend like I used to.
Are these horse racing places fun?
Can you gamble just a few bucks?
Or do folks here just watch? Which is cool.
Just wondering...

I didn’t even remember the Belmont stakes happened Saturday.
With this year’s controversies, this race fell off my radar.

I bet on Tacitus, Tacitus was cutoff at the same time.
Here is the BIG difference between what happened here and what happened in the Derby. In the Derby Maximum Security had a clear lane to run in and had no need to veer out of her lane. In the Belmont, Sir Winston did not have a clear lane, and therefore is allowed to move to the outside.
It really is a shame that the 2 best horses were next too each other on the outside. Had one or both of them started from a better position it would have been a much better race.
Starting from the outside is harder to win. Typically the better horse starting outside would need to sprint harder at the beginning of the race, so as to not get stuck in behind slower horses. This is a gamble because you don't want to waste too much energy and have none left to sprint at the finish. What I think happened here is that the 2 best horses were on the outside and they basically had a two horse race going on. The jockeys on Tacitus and War of Will held plenty in reserve to outsprint each other at the finish. The problem is they waited too long and Sir Winston made his move in front of them. I think it was excellent jocking on the part of Sir Winston's jockey that won the race for him.

War of Will must be a Democrat. “If I didn’t win, they cheated.”

The sport's biggest problem right now is what's going on at Santa Anita.
(BTW, that's where the racing scenes in A Day At the Races were filmed.)
