A Florida man was bitten by his Jaguar.
Theodore Levy, 81, lost his right thumb after it was caught in the door of his $96,000 vehicle, which includes a soft close feature with a history of problems, according to a lawsuit.
Levy watched in horror as the door pulverized the bone structure in his digit, and left his thumb a shadow of what it used to be

I hear they are doing great things with transplanting the big toe to the thumb these days

That guillotine feature must be an option for the French market.

He’s just lucky they didn’t name it the Castration Door.

Well, I guess I’ll just save my $96,000 then.

There is no sensor to stop the Door from closing with something in the way? Good thing Jaguar doesn’t make Garage Door Openers.
Secondly, have they removed all the Scissors from this guy’s House?

Someone lost a thumb in a work accident at a place I used to work. She got a seven figure payout because the loss of a thumb is far more crippling than a finger.

Unless Jaguar’s reliability has improved he needs that thumb for hitchhiking.

I’m in no immediate danger from this threat.

Without a sensor, sounds like an disaster waiting to happen. For me, Jaguar lost it’s cache after Ford bought them. I know they don’t own them anymore (I think they’re now owned by an Indian company), but it just made it clear that it’s not the same Jaguar it was.

I keep a Fiskars scissors in the kitchen because they cut bacon and some other meat etc. far better than a knife. They are actually a little more dangerous than one would think because they cut so easily.

Agree. And even when it was was, Jaguar's XKE was a beautiful thing to see that sounded like a lawn mower. I liked the Triumph TR series better.
