I have a young protégé who told me that he was going to attend the Belmont Stakes with a group of his friends. I think this will also be his first visit to a racetrack
This will be the 54th consecutive Belmont Stakes I have attended.
I sent him a copy of the Past Performances earlier in the week, and just now I prepared an analysis of the races for him.
I thought some FReepers might be interested in what I sent to him so I reproduce it below.

I dont think theyre blurry at all. Thx! Equibase usually has a good quality print on line.
Fast horses!
I don't bet on them but I do root for one of the horses to finish last. I call this horse "lazy horse" and there's nothing wrong with that in my book.
Those Past Performances I posted above were screen captures. They were much less clear than at the source.

One not-so great thing about the #3, Master Fencer, is that, despite what most people who play horses may think, come from behind horses do not run nearly as well as front runners or just-off-the-pace horses in the long 1-1/2 mile Belmont. Historically, horses on the lead or just off it hang on very well.
A few years back I looked into this in some detail and posted on a Belmont Stakes Live Thread the (results) charts of the past 10 or so previous Belmonts. Damn near all were front runners or not-too-far off the pace.
Printed your picks. I will be at Monmouth. 37th year of handicapping. Good luck.
Good call on #5!
And race #6! Race #11 surprised the crowd and had many disgruntled bettors Section 2P
