Pennsylvania woman claims Golden Corral kicked her out for dressing 'too provocatively' [photo]

A Pennsylvania woman claims she was asked to leave a Golden Corral restaurant last week because she was dressed "too provocatively."

Sueretta Emke said she was dining with her family at a Golden Corral in Erie, Pa. when a manager said her crop top was too inappropriate and some customers had complained. Asked what was inappropriate about her outfit, Emke said the manager couldn’t answer.

Emke wrote on Facebook that the manager’s request probably had more to do with her not being thin, “so it’s not considered sexy.” She said she had seen “people in there wearing less and nothing is said to them.”

“How can you not have a dress code but then make one up for certain customers if another customer complains? That’s not ok. It is discrimination,” Emke said. “And if you are okay with that, where are you going to draw the line?”

Emke told Yahoo Lifestyle she reached out to the regional training manager, who “apologized profusely.” He reportedly told Emke he planned to implement sensitivity training and hire more female managers.

Somebody that size DOES NOT need to be eating at Golden Corral.
somebody needs to introduce her to "portion control", or Jenny Craig, or Keto

I think calling it “provocative” was just being polite. It’s just way too “white trashy” for a restaurant that imagines that it has any sort of reputation as...wait. This is Golden Corral.

Never mind...

I have seen worse. OTOH, if I looked like that, I would have been embarrassed, even without being kicked out of the place.

Maybe this incident will help her to realize she could lose some weight and/or be more careful about her appearance.

What if....
It was the smell and the “provocative” angle was used to soften the blow?

Why is it young women think everyone wants to see their boobs and belly? She’s dressed for an outdoor picnic, not a restaurant. But, then, maybe I’m old fashioned.

She felt embarrassed to be asked to cover up but is not embarrassed to have that picture all over the internet? I’d go into hiding and sign up for a lifetime gym membership if I looked like that.

Damn, Wal Marts in Mississippi wouldn't have any business if they kicked out women that dressed and looked like this. This is normal in West Tennessee and North Mississippi.

What the heck happened to “We reserve the right to refuse service”? Oh wait, that hurts people’s feelings and should be illegal because, feelings and stuff.

They still let us celebrate and commemorate D-Day, right? Or does that hurt people’s feelings too?

Pixelating the baby’s face is a hoot.

Oh, and mom should never have been
asked to leave. She *belongs* in a corral.

I’m guessing they were afraid the “all you can eat shrimp” offer would bankrupt them.

Apparently her definition of provocatively and mine are very different.

Two rules for dressing:

1. Just because they make it in your size doesn’t mean you should wear it.
2. If the article of clothing is wider than it is long, you probably shouldn’t wear it.
