When George the Younger was president, he would allow this to be a “controversy” that would drag on for weeks. With Trump, so much is going on that it is in the headlines for one or two days and goes away, and gets implemented (unless the courts run interference, but that is another issue).
He is a great man.

The Trump administration said Wednesday it is ending medical research by government scientists using human fetal tissue, a victory for abortion foes that comes despite impassioned pleas from scientists that some health problems can't be studied any other way. BS, they just have to be creative and think outside the baby killing box.

I know a mother who had her baby’s umbilical cord & placenta harvested, & she donated them to a research facility.
She told me the stem cells from umbilica & placentae can be used in the exact same types of research, eliminating any excuse for harvesting dead fetuses.
This was during the Bush years. I’ve no idea whether she was correct, and since then, I’ve never heard of anyone else doing that.

Have there been any medical breakthroughs that have come exclusively from embryonic stem cells? I remember when GWB ended federal funding for embryonic stem cell research beyond a few stem cell lines that were already being studied. Bush was attacked for the rest of his presidency for being “anti-science”. Of course he never fought back. Trying that attack on Trump will get a very different result.
