Eruptions from the face of our star are called prominences and cause vast amounts of superhot gas to shoot into space, often forming beautiful loops on the solar surface. During the solar minimum, the number of flares and sunspots is dramatically reduced.
When the sun leaps back from its minimum after roughly 11 years, were likely to see more and more ferocious explosions on the sun.
Nasa warned: After our Sun passes the current Solar Minimum, solar activity like eruptive prominences are expected to become more common over the next few years.
The space agency has just released dramatic pictures of a monster solar prominence recording by its Solar Dynamic Observatory in 2011, which shows what we should expect to see when the suns minimum reaches its end.
Nasa wrote: The dramatic explosion was captured in ultraviolet light in the featured time lapse video covering 90 minutes, where a new frame was taken every 24 seconds. The scale of the prominence is huge the entire Earth would easily fit under the flowing curtain of hot gas. A solar prominence is channelled and sometimes held above the Suns surface by the Suns magnetic field.
A quiescent prominence typically lasts about a month, and may erupt in a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) expelling hot gas into the Solar System. The energy mechanism that creates a solar prominence is still a topic of research.

No doubt this is Anthropogenic Total Solar Gauss Lowering

Going at night can’t work ... traffic jam, too many Pollocks crowding the path.
10-4, over and out
Then we should wait until a cloudy day in Winter.................
Ominously...interesting choice of words. Ominously calm...even more interesting.
Trying to frighten us into approving more research dollars, no doubt.
What did Obama do to cause the maximum of 2013-2014 to be so much lower than usual? And why?
And the AGW liars say their are no significant changes during the solar cycle. Their eyes told them that. Lol.
Sorry, the entire cycle takes 11+/- years.
Thus the minimum is the middle or low point and it will soon begin to increase. This is the period of strongest dipolar field strength so coronal mass ejections are minimal. The earth goes through a similar reversal periodically... 70,000 years but we are way overdue.
Just as a reference, another freeper posted “If I understand correctly we have just begun the solar minimum cycle that will last approximately 11 years.”
I simply included it in my reply that, in essence, was a parody of AOC and her “12 years before the earth ends”.
It was not meant to be a scientific discussion.
Yikes, what excuse will the cable company have without blaming outages to sun spots.
Been discussing this for years. A solar cycle is about 11 years. A minimum or maximum then precedes the lag time for an effect to be realized on earth. Estimates are about 3-5 years before that thermal inertia either abates or increases with climate effects following that, so at present, we are starting the lag as solar energy abates, the gradual dissipation of energy from the earth’s systems ( land/water/atmosphere) begins and climate variations follow.
The next few solar cycles are expected to be below average, so the next 20-40 years are likely to realize a gradual cooling of the earth’s systems and changing weather/climate over time. Enjoy the cool that’s coming. Good thing the US is able to produce copious amount of petro-energy! We may need it!
Soon, the science-leftist loons will be crying the “sky is cooling! we’re doomed (again)!”
We’re all gonna dieeeeee!!!!
Uh-oh, after 4.603 billion years, the sun woke up yesterday and decided to kill us all. What a coincidence!
It’s possible that the universe could
collapse on us as we speak. All I can
say, is it hasn’t happened so far.
75m at night really SUX now days (er, nights)
NU4J
Things are pretty slow right now and we think they will start to improve next year.
Were all gonna dieeeeee!!!!
Last I checked, the mortality rate is still 100%
As the morality rate goes down, the mortality rate goes up.
