I had to look up what all the words meant. Finally did after about 15 years of knowing the song :)

Awesome steaks. I worked for years in Midtown so maybe that is why I know about it. Keens' claim to fame is that the walls and ceilings are lined with pipes.

ROFL!!
I almost missed this post. That would have been awful :)
I saw the picture in the reply :)
GREAT scene!!
CANT IMAGINE killing someone like that BUT an attempt wasn’t made on my father’s life.
Well..not exactly...but that’s a story for another day.
And it was not mob related..though they DID get involved later on...but like I said...another day... :)

Oh it's still open, it closed in 1979 but it reopened. The sides were spectacular if memory serves me right.
Right behind Keens in my steakhouse book is this Brazilian steakhouse ...I've NEVER eaten so much red meat in my life.

Why don’t I just @#$#ing move where you are and you can move here since you know A MILLION places it looks like :) that I have NEVER heard of!!
I worked in Manhattan. But I’m a Staten Island WOP :)
I know staten island :)
I am glad you had such great experiences at what looks like some wonderful places :)
I DID and DO like eating at Sheepshead Bay.
And in Bay Ridge sometimes.
But mostly a Staten Island boy at heart, even at 51.
The rest of the men in the family got out of here as soon as they could!
Now they all think they’re #$#$ing WASPS lol.
Surprised they don’t drink their Anisette with a pinky finger in the air :)

Weren't we talking about chess at some point?
Staten Island is to New York City what the Vatican was to Italy during WWII. I haven't spent much time there but it's a decent area. All the nice places in Manhattan, in some ways, can't compete with a breakfast sandwich from a corner deli in Staten Island.
Also...my employer paid for all those steak dinners...I'd have to sell an organ to cover the tab if I did it myself.
As for Anisette, this is my preference:
...and my favorite Midtown Greek restaurant (thought...again..a NJ diner would suffice most of the time).

After the Isle of Lewis was purchased by Sir James Matheson in 1844, Malcolm Macleod and his family were evicted and the district was transformed into sheep farms.
This incident inspired the Rolling Stones to write "Hey, Macleod, get off of my ewe!"

How the HELL did we get so far off topic?!?! :)
Another place I didn’t know that I had to look up!
NICE when the boss picks up great dinners :)
I got a 30 dollar allowance for meals when I worked more than 9 hours at an investment bank, which was often.
I would throw in another 20 or 30 sometimes to get something very nice.
I worked at Rockefeller Plaza and before that the Financial Center and before that the Beautiful Twin Towers.

I used to love eating in Bay Ridge, before it changed to all Chinese or Arab.
Gino’s was great, La Sorrentina made great pies, Fiacco’s sold the best meats.
The bagels and pastries were so ggod, also...Bagel Boy, Bagelicious, Aunt Butchy’s, Steve’s Bagels, Villa Batte.
Ah well, those were the days!
See ya’,
