I read the book. It was good, but would have been better as a long magazine article.

INTERESTING TOPIC

The man who put the Oxford Dictionary together is not much of a hook for me. However, I find the back story of film production far more interesting. The movie was ‘in the can’ way back in 2016.

There have been disputes on marketing, script endings, and release dates and financing stretching on to this day.
Neither Mel or Sean Penn put any effort into marketing this movie. A fake director’s name was put on the credits.
I don’t like Sean personally, but I hear he’s a good actor.
All that effort into learning lines, immersing into a character don’t matter, due to this sub plot. I’m sure he got paid scale.

Great book.

(I own and am a big fan of the OED. Where else could one gain a clear understanding of what the Framers meant by natural born citizen!)

Penn did a good job. Sometimes he steps up and shows he can act. Of course the movie is 55% Gibson.
