Forget the Logan Act, how about treason? Obama officials STILL talking to Iran behind Trump’s back

Treason is in season if you’re a former Obama administration official, as they continue to test the boundaries of the Trump administration — and U.S. law — by continuing to remain in contact with arch-nemesis Iran.

As our readers are aware, former Secretary of State John Kerry was busted — again — earlier this month for continuing his contacts with the terrorist-sponsoring Iranian regime in a bid, ostensibly, to ‘save’ the nuclear deal he and Obama negotiated.

At the time, POTUS Donald Trump and some Republican lawmakers called on Kerry to be investigated (and charged) under the 18th-century Logan Act:

Last year Kerry, Obama’s second secretary of state after the chronically criminally investigated Hillary Clinton left the position, admitted to having secret discussions with the Iranian foreign minister, Javad Zarif, “three or four times” to talk about the nuclear deal that POTUS Trump exited.

“John Kerry violated the Logan Act, plain and simple,” the president said Thursday. “He shouldn’t be doing that.”

The act is little-changed since its passage and has never been used. It’s short; here’s what it says, for the most part:

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

While it’s not known what Kerry and Zarif discussed, it’s fair to say it had nothing to do with hockey scores or ‘the grandkids.’ To be sure, what Kerry did sure sounds like a textbook violation of the Logan Act.

There have been so many violations of the Logan Act and not one is investigated let alone prosecuted.

It's just like our border. We don't really "apprehend" anyone. We give them a food voucher and a bus ticket to parts unknown USA.

In fact, laws are only for little, powerless people. You are more likely to be arrested for an unpaid parking ticket than for treasonous secret negotiations with terrorist countries.

It does almost seem like Treason is now perfectly acceptable — IF the treason could be seen as being covered by the Logan Act. Because, you know, the Logan Act is somewhat problematical, and no one gets charged under the Logan Act, and so on. So it’s like a Get Out of Jail Card for traitors. “Sure, I committed treason. But you cannot charge me. Because of the Logan Act.”

What the heck?

Arrest them out of country, in secret, in the dark.

Times have changed. With POTUS in charge, if he went after Kerry and others from day 1, the Dems would pose it as partisan and “too many” members of the public would agree. All of Obama’s servants were treasonous and they are being investigated, and now it’s dripping into the public sphere to prepare the public for prosecuting these traitors.

I’ve been reading the DOJ website and I’ve seen lower level criminals from OBama’s regime being sentenced for crimes they were charged with a year or more ago. So timing wise, investigations on those criminals started soon after POTUS took office.

There are so many hearing transcripts being released, grand juries empaneled - this is all different from Obama’s era. Times have changed and the criminals are taking to the airwaves lying. An acquaintance of mine doesn’t follow the news and would adopt whatever political stance was popular in her circle. She said, “All I know is everyone is saying Trump is lying, a liar, lying some more and on top of that lying.” The public isn’t quite ready to accept the reality of who the real criminals are - it takes exposure.

Unless he is breaking a law and is prosecuted, he can do as he damn well pleases.

Here’s a thought: Declare a state of war with Iran, but do nothing, akin to the WW II period after the invasion of Poland, but before the invasion of France.

During that period, Obama, Feinstein, et al will certainly give aid and comfort to the declared enemy. Then, Logan Act misbehavior rises to the level of treason.

Hang Obama, hang DiFi, hang Kerry, etc..

Then declare hostilities over and go back to diplomacy.

Remember, the Constitution specifically defines treason as aiding and giving comfort to enemies of the United States, or levying war against the United States. So, without a war, how can you declare an enemy? And how can these activities, which are effectively treasonous, meet the black-letter definition of treason? War... whether vigorously or langorously prosecuted.

Note: The above is partly tongue in cheek, as war declaration is serious business. On the other hand, with the current makeup of Congress, you could never get a war declaration anyway. So, this means that the above is fantasy, and the President is left to conduct low-level military operations on his own.

Not to worry... Israel is most likely cataloging every thing he is saying to them.

Dont be surprised when we have the video in 2020 to put Kerry away for good.

Constitution, Article III, Section 3:

"Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

Iran is, and was at the time of Obama's "Iran Deal," an enemy of the United States.

E.g.:

From an American point of view:

Before the United States goes to war with Iran, as many Americans seem anxious to do, we should first understand how Iran became our implacable enemy. Forbes Magazine, Dec., 2011

From an Iranian point of view:

1. The US. Named as “Big Satan”, by the Iranian government, so this doesn’t really need any explanation. Iran and the US have been fierce enemies since the Iranian revolution ... Quora

Obama purportedly negotiated a "deal" with our enemy Iran.

However, Obama’s Iran deal is a fraud top to bottom

Obama Aide: Iran Deal Built on Lie

Obama in his "Iran Deal" gave Iran over $100 billion, plus immediate relief from sanctions, plus permission to build nuclear weapons after the lapse of ten or thirteen years. The U.S. got essentially nothing.

The deal was not negotiated in good faith. It was Obama's personal gift to America's enemy Iran. Senator Ben Sasse:

The Iran deal has always been terrible. Today is a reminder that if you live by the presidency, you die by the presidency. We ought to be clear about this: Donald Trump isn’t ripping up a treaty; he’s walking away from Barack Obama’s personal pledge. Two-and-a-half years ago, President Obama made a bad deal with Iran without support from Congress, and today President Trump is pulling out of President Obama’s personal commitment, and he doesn’t need Congress’s support to do . . .. A Review of Obama’s Disastrous Iran Deal That Trump Just Saved Us From

Obama adhered to Iran, an enemy of the United States, and gave Iran material aid and comfort. He was aided and abetted in this by the Iranian sympathizer Valerie Jarret and long-time traitor John Kerry, among others, e.g., many Democrat Senators.

It’s treason. No other word for it.

Kerry and a lot of others are guilty, and need to be held to account.

Anything less, and we cease to exist as a nation of Laws.

It’s really no more complicated than that.
