VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Reuters) - The gunman who killed 12 people at a Virginia Beach municipal building before dying in a gun battle with police was identified on Saturday as a disgruntled city engineer and co-worker of most of the victims. All but one of the victims from the mass shooting in the coastal resort community were employed by the city, officials said at a news conference, while the other was a contractor seeking a permit. Four people were wounded.
The gunman, DeWayne Craddock, had worked for the citys public utilities department for about 15 years, Virginia Beach Police Chief James Cervera said at a news conference.

“A sanitation engineer got to run
alongside the garbage truck ... ten
maybe fifteen miles an hour if he’s
a good man.”
“That looks like a decent pair of shoes
in your trash, there. Can I have ‘em?”
“Hell, no, man. I got to inventory that stuff!”
Thank you!
Just a wild assumption on my part. Might have been a silenced Tommy gun.
Where was the info that he was a Democrat?
Saw it yesterday posted here and on twitter..most likely true but some on twitter mentioned that in Virginia you dont have to have party affiliation its not required not sure about that
It really doesn’t matter where you are or where you work, nowadays, you should never leave home unarmed!
Just think what one armed citizen could have prevented, had this not been a “gun free” zone!
STAY SAFE!
STAY ARMED!
I will never understand why a disgruntled employee doesn’t just go on to another job opportunity. Same with a jilted lover who can’t accept that he is not captive of the current condition, and the sea is full of fish.
Like Terrence Popp says, “a permanent solution to a temporary problem”.
Stoopid.
“Who brushes their teeth at work?”
So many people now, it’s a thing!
Me
“About what?!?”
I don’t think anyone knows, and maybe this is going to be like the Las Vega guy, we’ll never know. But clearly he was NOT a happy camper.
I said essentially that early on, on a forum Im on and was lambasted. Here we are first of the week, and the story is completely gone.
