Eleven people were killed and six people injured by a shooter at the city's Municipal Center in Princess Anne on Friday afternoon, Virginia Beach police Chief Jim Cervera said.
"This is the most devastating day in the history of Virginia Beach," Mayor Bobby Dwyer said. "The people involved are our friends, coworkers, neighbors and colleagues."

So the “security was beefed up at some but not all municipal buildings”. Does that include larger font “NO FIREARMS ALLOWED” signs being posted or stenciled on entry doors. So, since I don’t know that for a fact, I can only make an ass of myself and guess only the bad guy broke the rules? Sad dang situation. Sure there will be more later. And demands for stricter gun laws.

What I read was a long time employee disgruntled because recently fired. Now room temperature.
Well the police are in the building so I would say it’s not a gun free zone.
Well I stand, or sit, corrected. Maybe. Are the cops in the same building? Been a long time since I’ve been to the Norfolk area. Probably since 1953?
As with all stories I have heard literally in the building and I have heard next door. But next month facts should be clear. Lol.
