A lone swimmer in the Gulf of Mexico was circled by a shark without her knowing, according to a frightening video.
Stan Battles reportedly took the video Wednesday morning from his balcony on the 28th floor of a resort at Panama City Beach, Fla., according to the Panama City News Herald.
The outlet reported Battles had been watching the shark for a couple of hours in murkier waters until it swam into a clearer area, which is when the woman swam by. Thats when he started filming the shark.
The woman swims directly over this thing, he told the outlet. Directly over it.
The two-and-a-half-minute video shows the woman swimming in the clear green waters with a dark spot the shark close behind her.
The shark appears to stay close to the woman as she swims unknowingly beside it.

Look who is going the other way at 2:40.
You can’t worry about sharks, or you will miss the enjoyment of the ocean.

Shark is one thing there, the salt water crocodiles are what I worry more about in those waters.

So, instead of filming, why in hell didn’t he try to warn her or notify the authorities? I guess it’s a sign of the fast deteriorating times we’re living in.
The shark was churning up a lot of sand. I don’t think it had any interest in the lady.
So who do you call and what do you tell them?
Just curious about what an empty-headed virtue-signaller like you would have done that would have made a whit of difference.
Friggin jackass. You can call the local lifeguard station for one. You can run down to the beach and tell the lifeguard, and/or yell to her yourself. Were you actually serious?? Surely you can't be THAT stupid and lazy?
Sounds like he new it was already taken care of:
“In the video, beachgoers can be heard calling out to the woman, urging her to come back to shore. Some were heard screaming: ‘Shark!’”
Honestly, I don’t think I would have done anything more. Folks already know the shark is there and they’re sounding the alarm.
People swim with sharks all the time or resorts wouldn’t allow anyone to swim, ever.
You’re one of those airheads who freaks out when you see a snake too, I bet.
So you’ve been there and you know that sharks attack people regularly?
Or you haven’t got a clue?
You just like to bemoan how horrible other people are and how virtuous you are for caring about something that didn’t even happen.
OMG, that was a big shark. I wonder what species it was. It certainly got the attention of beachgoers, if you could hear them screaming “Shark!” on the 28th floor of that hotel.
Your idiotic, lazy, stupid, response reminded me of the "Hipster" airhead here in New York City who saw someone fall into the subway tracks, and instead of at least trying to help them up, took out his cellphone and started recording the incident.
An encounter with a shark is one of my worst nightmares.
That woman really isolated herself.
Now, an oceanic white tip, I am out of the water yesterday.
I remember being down there, just west of PCB, walking down the beach when we saw a shark in pretty chest-deep water. We were just watching it...then I saw the guy in the water in it’s path and not far away. I quietly put my hand on my head like a fin and pointed to it. He asked how big and I spread my arms to show him it was about my height (not a big one). And he calmly and slowly walked out and was very thankful. Sometimes...if it’s going to make them overreact, thrash and splash trying to get away..sometimes it might be better if they don’t know. Sharks get attracted to splashing.
This reminds me of a time my Daughter was swimming in Ponce de Leon Springs. After a while I told her it was time to go. She kept begging me to let her swim a little longer.
Finally I was about to just tell her we had to go. Then I noticed a sign warning of alligators.
Now there is probably less than one chance in a thousand of a gator being in the springs but it took only one glance at it and she was ready to go.
You know, professional courtesy and all that!
😜
The more you speak your mind the more you reveal how totally stupid and screwed up you are. Glad I don’t live anywhere near an apathetic a-hole like you.
Duh, yeah, your right. Besides, sharks gotta eat too you know. (friggin jackass).
