That isn’t sand, the huge dark mass is a giant school of baitfish. And the teeming mass of fish is what Sharky was after. When people get bit by sharks while swimming off a beach it isn’t typically in the clear waters far out but rather in the surf zone close in where the shark’s vision is obscured by foam and disturbed sand as it swims, mouth agape, to catch baitfish.
