Pop megastar Taylor Swift revealed in a recent interview that she has no plans to give up her political activism mere months after her failed effort to help elect former Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen (D) to the U.S. Senate.
I definitely think there are political undertones in the new music I made, Taylor Swift told the German publication RTL. Im not planning to stop encouraging young people to vote and to try to get them to talk about whats going on in our country. I think thats one of the most important things I could do.
In October 2018, Swift shocked the entertainment world by breaking her long-held silence on politics with an endorsement of Bredesen for U.S. Senate and Democrat Jim Cooper for U.S. House of Representatives, citing their record on LGBT issues.
As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn, Shake It Off singer wrote. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values.

The friend wants to do art, and I pretty much figured her as lost to liberalism, like her older sister.
To my shock and surprise, she's turned into a huge conservative, like my daughter! I've known her since she was three or four years old; she's two years younger than my daughter. We spent the whole afternoon talking about conservative/liberal stuff.
So I asked her "can you remember how you first found out about conservatism, about the liberal/conservative divide?"
She answered immediately, and with one word: "Pewdiepie!"
I know about Pewdiepie from my daughter, who's been a huge fan of his since she was in middle school, or before.
For those of you who don't have young daughters, Pewdiepie is this gigantic YouTube phenomenon. He was the subject of some controversy a few years ago; the WSJ had an article in which he was disparaged as a proto-Nazi.
Apparently, Pewdiepie has Ben Shapiro on his show as a guest, and that's the route by which my daughter's friend found out about Shapiro, and about conservatism.
I asked her "so what was it about Ben Shapiro that you liked, that made you think about becoming a conservative?" and she immediately said "because he wins every argument!"
This girl was born in 2002; my daughter was born in 2000.
she sings about her chronic poor decision making, from what I hear
If she fell on the beach, she wouldn’t leave an impression.................
It's called "FU Money".
"...will have to YouTube her music..."
I don’t think I’ve ever heard one of her songs if that matters.
The more trained seals like this tart throw their personal politics in my face the less and less they matter in real life. I have never listened to any of her music and when I hear her name my ears close and I walk away.
Dean Reed, anyone?
"...wouldnt know her songs..."
Do the Dixie Chicks really need company?
Her supply of ex-boyfriends must have run out.
As Quincey Jones remarked about her ‘music’, it’s just hooks.............
Now I can see why all those men dumped her, at least per her songs.
If it weren’t for them, she’d have no ‘material’.....................
The more the merrier...................
My unintentional boycott is suddenly intentional!
Her endorsement of Phil Bredesen in the U.S. Senate race in Tennessee fell flat on its face when it was revealed that shes actually registered to vote in NEW YORK, not Tennessee.
She does nothing important.
Great, another high school dropout know-it-all entertainer is going to tell everyone else how to think. Unbelievable.
I never boycotted her, I just don’t like adolescent teeny-bopper oriented music...................
