Two Texas men that attempted to jump over the gap in a Louisiana drawbridge in a car died after the vehicle crashed into the water and sank.
The incident happened at around 2 a.m. Friday...
After stopping briefly, the driver placed the vehicle in reverse then accelerated forward in an attempt to jump the ramp of the bridge. The vehicle became airborne, landed in the waterway, and sank to the bottom.

Sanks for the memories.
Were they from Vidor?
Just some good ole boys,
Never meanin’ no harm,....
They moved a barrier out of the way and then backed up to get a better start?
Maybe they should have held their arms out the windows to get more lift.
Some world class thinking occurring there.
Darwin’s thinning of the stupid human herd does it 24/7/365 and does not take days off for holidays.
Apologies to Vidor. The were “valley boys” transplanted from central america probably:
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Alejandro Cazares of McAllen, Texas, was unable to exit the vehicle. And the passenger, 32-year-old Roberto Alejandro Moreno of Edinburg, Texas, was found outside of the submerged vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Some people never learn the gravity of their decisions
Sanks for the memories.
Knock it off. My left side is hurting from laughing.
I dont mean to sound racist but were they here lwgally?
Maybe Mexico has different laws of physics.
25 and 32. Come on man. That’s just way too old even if you are drunk.
Something is missing from This picturw.
“2 am on a friday night. Was alcohol involved?”
It was probably the absence of alcohol — the bars close, then this happens.
More evidence TV is bad for your brain
Please come to this thread.
Bring your tagline...
And the passenger GOT OUT to lift the gate.
= = = = = = =
Makes as much ‘sense’ (using ‘makes sense’ here is tantamount to using the word LOGIC when referring to LIBs)
as the stunt itself.
I think their lack of reasoning (bad choice again) was that ‘physics’ would be worrying about smashing through the gate and not ‘guiding’ the vehicle over the water.
Or something along that line....
Right up there with ‘I saw it on the internet’ to ‘I saw it in the movies’ believability.
Now an Avaneti type lawyer will leap up and sue the automobile manufacturer, company that built the gate, company that installed the gate, the movie(s) that did the stunt and the guy that let them get to the front of the line to enable them to ‘ATTEMPT’ to fly.
Last words heard “QUICK BILLY, PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BREAK!!!!”
With names like that, are they really “of Texas?”
Yes, Darwin Award: Airborne Division, with Water Cluster.
And maybe with a Crushed Can device? (pending inquiry)
The event is tragic, but still, I laughed.
You’re NOT WRONG about the gate being movable. They will sue and SHOULDNT but. COULD win.
That only works if youre driving an orange Hemi Charger.
But,but,but ...
What a shitbox Dodge Monaco?
