The man who admitted to kidnapping Jayme Closs and killing her parents will be sentenced Friday.
In March, 21-year-old Jake Patterson entered a guilty plea to two counts of intentional homicide and one count of kidnapping in connection with the fatal shootings of Jim and Denise Closs at their Barron County, Wisconsin, home in October as well as the abduction of Jayme.
Jayme currently lives with relatives, some of whom are expected to speak during the hearing Friday about the impact of losing Jim and Denise Closs.
Patterson faces a sentence of life in prison. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS spoke with an FBI expert whose team worked to develop a profile of a suspect early in the Closs investigation.
Karie Gibson said Patterson presented a challenge that turned into uncertainty for Barron County and for those following Jayme's abduction.
"It's a look at predatory violence; it's not just snapping, they're not just one day (saying), 'Look at this, this is what I am going to do,'" Gibson said. "There's likely a lot of planning that goes into (it) and fantasy as well."

Sure doesn’t seem like it. The sicko was hiding her under his bed. He had no plan.
Two life sentences for murder to run consecutively.
One for kidnapping.
Consecutively
Too bad no death penalty, for that’s what he deserves.
Too bad no death penalty, for that’s what he deserves.
Not much death penalty anywhere. Or justice. Glorified timeout is all that is.
I’m betting his fellow inmates will impose the death penalty.
The death is what society deserves too.The is no good reason that people like that have to continue to exist.
Will surprise me if he survives in prison more than two years. Someone will probably take him out.
The judge has set a 3 hour block this afternoon for witness impact statements and sentencing...
Wow.
I suspect that for $10 added to their commissary account, any number of inmates will gladly assist him to his “final reward.”
Why do so many people assume that? Prisons are probably full of sick f**ks like him. They may high-five him.
Maybe if this tool realized there is no Playstation in jail the parents would still be alive...
Something tells me that this judge is going to have a field day with this one.
Reality101:
Sickos that kill children are NOT “high-fived”...but get their own justice.
Court TV is reporting that sentencing will begin at 1:30 PM, local time.
I would like to see some stats on that. I have a hard time believing in some sort of prisoners' "code of honor".
Last night local news said LIFE for EACH of the two murder charges and 40 years for kidnapping Jayme.
This puke isn’t going anywhere - and if history holds, will be ‘Dahmerized’ while in prison. Soon, I hope.
