The IRS Obamacare Premium Credit adjustment instructions were in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, French Creole, German, Gujarati, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.
The instructions say that the IRS will provide healthcare information through an interpreter free of charge in your language.
I called yesterday and the woman who answered was obviously very obese and out of breath as she sounded as though she had just run 10 flights of steps and couldn't get her breath. When she finally answered in broken English she had no idea what she was talking about. (And she was a "Health Care Specialist.")
Must have been overlooked by the paperwork reduction act staff!
We get the same thing from our health insurance provider...must be a gubment requirement. Luckily, the multi-language disclosure comes on a separate page, so I toss it and save the pertinent pages.
Reduce the IRS’s taxpayer interface to a postcard that is printed in English.
Send discharged staff to a retraining camp and let them learn to code.
IRS letters are incomprehensible in any language.
interpreting is a federally mandated requirement in the healthcare field and a way to provide payola to immigrants.
They sign up for interpreting.
They run interpreting outfits.
A number of healthcare organizations train incompetent healthcare workers so they can have interpreters in house at all times.
We get the same thing from our health insurance provider...
But did they use the proper gender-neutral pronouns?
No,No that IS the Paperwork Reduction.
They USED to print ONE LANGUAGE NAME on ONE ON EACH PAGE.
The law actually requires the doctor foot the bill for the interpreter. With luck the doctor clears $15 for the appointment. The interpreter costs much more. IOW, the law forces the doctor to lose money.
RayCPA, I agree. And very often they are wrong.
I too am a CPA!
Years ago I had a medium size company with about $2.5 million in sales and cost of goods sold of $2 million. Thus, there was $500,000 available to cover overhead and operating expenses and the resulting taxable profit was about $80,000.
The IRS in their wisdom sent a letter stating that I made an error in preparing the return and they added the sales and CGS, sending my client a deficiency notice balance due of over $1.3 million. DUH!!!
My client had a heart condition!
ML/NJ
Correct - No Hebrew
This was a letter denying a several thousand dollar refund as the client never told me they were in the marketplace for the first two months of the year prior to getting an excellent job and employer provided insurance.
In another situation, the client made approximately $84,000 per year in employment income and Obamacare paid over $31,000 in healthcare premiums... (Parents + 2 children or family of 4) What a ripoff of taxpayer money!

Free to the person but not to the taxpayers who have to pay for this nonsense.
I’m offended! I speak Klingon and there are no instructions.
Yes the healthcare provider or institution needs to foot the bill for this income tranfer and no family is allowd to interpert.
except they do because they are all related.
Had people admitted because apparently their relative/friends wanted interperter dollars and the patient would only use specific interperters .
I got a voter registration form with my Obamacare monthly statement.
