So here i am putting together a Char-Broil portable gas grill that came with three seperate instruction manuals..

Brought to us by NAFTA...Just easier and cheaper I’d guess to print one manual in 3 languages than 3 manuals in one language...Bean counters told me so...

Probably not even that much in France anymore...

Your unit price is lower because base costs are amortized over a larger customer base. Having that manual in French probably lowered unit production costs by a couple of per cent.

I studied French all the way through high-school. Ditto...a long,long time ago. But on my recent visit to Quebec all I could remember is "Je cherche le salle de bains".

Ditto...a long,long time ago. But on my recent visit to Quebec all I could remember is "Je cherche le salle de bains".Then you go through all of that trouble of learning French, and then you discover that the French love to reverse their words (Verlan) so "merci" becomes "cimer".
