You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. Im posting the best of them.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
IF YOU REALIZE THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH, YOU ARE TRULY RICH---LAO TZU
3 min. Guessed at first two words. Was able to fill in blanks after correct guess.
Well, I hope that’s true, because my imagination’s a little limited in that regard. LOL!
Around 2 minutes. I guessed at the double letter in the author’s first name (turns out I was wrong) and went from there. It didn’t take long to figure out my mistake and it was easy to correct and finish.
Here is the long anticipated bonus puzzle. Its a humorous quote from a funny movie, comedian, or entertainer you may or may not recall. This is a contest, with hugh and series bragging rights to the winnner who solves and return posts first. But, unlike nikos puzzle, you have to reply with a pic, gif, or meme that shows beyond reproach you solved the puzzle. Honorable mentions also awarded to most original replies. Remember, dont spoil nikos puzzle, but have fun with mine.
Here it is! Enjoy!

Nice one today, moved on smoothly after the E and the double letter in the first name, several words could be guessed at.
3 minutes.
Sadly, the first first name that came to mind was Betty and it took far too long to get that out of my head.
After MUCH false starts, fell directly in place.
You did stump me Saturday ...

Agreed (well, I have ‘no problem’ with part 2 - I think)
I also have no tolerance for intolerant people
AND
I hate haters

Good reflection on itself AND it now makes ‘sense’ after completing #6

Hope you enjoyed. Next time reply with a silly pic (google the quote and author if need be) so you can be part of the contest. That’s the idea anyway. :)
Ah, now #8 REALLY makes sense...<: <: <:
Like the ‘newsreaders’ should say
I ONLY READ THE NEWS, I DON’T GET PAID TO COMMENT ON IT.
At least back in the John Cameron ‘Swayback’ days,
THAT is the way that it WAS.
Guess the real start of the ‘news readers’editorializing’ the news started with the ‘trusted, grandfatherly types’ during the Vietnam War, more or less lying to us on a daily basis.
We had editors/editorialists/and commentators to do that.
KUUHUB was the key for me.
Yeah. Blew it wide open.
2 min. Got the first two words and that word with 3 letters the same in the 2nd line...
