Todays Cryptogram
WN RTY ZOLEWMO CFLC RTY FLUO OITYHF, RTY LZO CZYER ZWGF---ELT CMY
Todays CG is courtesy of the Arkansas Gazette.
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
MATURING IS REALIZING HOW MANY THINGS DONT REQUIRE YOUR COMMENT.---RACHEL WOLCHIN
3 min. Don’t be fooled by 3 letter word. Solved the 4 letter 4th word and finished from there.
2 minutes!!! even though I chose the wrong solo three letter word. I guessed correctly the other three letter words which reveled the seventh word and the CG filled like dominoes.
4 minutes
I started by the first two words (guess) and noticed the 4-letter 4th word; that is a really useful combination of letters.
Same, same. The first two came to mind as I transcribed it. If I mentally “read” it in a voice like the adults in the Peanuts cartoons sounded, some of them half solve themselves.
Nice one and very true.
Five minutes, restarted several times, saved by CFLC, the solving of which gave me a way in. The 3 letter was not my first couple choices but then light dawned.
This is my favorite one so far!

True - BUT when I get the first ‘guess’ wrong, it takes ‘forever’ to clear my gourd to get on with the correct solution....<: <:
..Like today...
First name came to my mind for author was Tom Mix...which is quickly thrown out as it doesn’t ‘work’ BUT my mind was fixated on that name, thereby thinking a ‘western’ theme...
However....(It isn’t easy being me...<: <: <:)]
BUT when such ‘shenanigans’ work, it more often than not turns into a rout...

When there’s a comma somewhere in the quote and the first word is two letters, it is real easy to get the rest.
