FULL TITLE: 'These are the idiots making decisions for WOMEN in America': Rihanna slams Alabama lawmakers as celebrities share their own abortion stories in a backlash against state's near-total ban
Rihanna has called the Alabama state senators who voted in favor of a near-total ban on abortions in the state 'idiots', as celebrities continue to vent outrage at the law.
The singer, a native of Barbados, wrote in a tweet on Thursday: 'Take a look. these are the idiots making decisions for WOMEN in America. Governor Kay Ivey...SHAME ON YOU!!!!'
The tweet included a photo showing all 25 Alabama senators who voted for the bill. Ivey on Wednesday signed the bill, which will make providing abortions in the state a felony, except in cases where the life of the mother is endangered.
Rihanna was just one of the many celebrities and Hollywood personalities who spoke out in fury over the law, including many who shared their own personal stories of abortions.
Among them was Minka Kelly who said her abortion was the 'smartest decision' she could have made.
On social media, hundreds of ordinary Americans also answered a call by talk show host Busy Philipps to share stories and 'end the shame'.
Philipps launched the hashtag #youknowme aimed at showing how common it is for women to end their pregnancies on Tuesday night, before the bill was passed.
'1 in 4 women have had an abortion. Many people think they don't know someone who has, but #youknowme,' the 39-year-old wrote in a post on Twitter.
One day after its launch, nearly 50,000 people had liked or shared the post and almost 2,000 users had posted responses, including deeply personal accounts of their own abortions.

Maybe sit this one out, Rihanna. I hear you’re not even an American citizen. Why don’t you go find your Umber-ella-ella
back in Barbados. Chris Brown wants you to call him.
By all means: advertise your abortions.
Seems almost every so called star has been since this happened.
California could start a campaign to attract abortion tourism.
Have you seen any lists published?
Id like to be able to put a name with the deed.
look under keyword prolife been posting all day and just did one now
Hey Rihanna.
First of all, loved the “Shy Ronnie” videos.
Second, butt out of our business!
Alabama is making decisions for Alabama, not ‘America’, silly girl.
maybe this Rihanna woman will now learn to make intelligent decisions for herself?
For a group of people who claim to be very sensitive to people being shamed due to color, biological sex, so called gender, race, religion, abortions etc. etc., they sure do shame a lot of people.
Could it be ... no ... well ... could it be that everything they accuse us of is mere ... no ... projection? No, it couldn't be that.
Pity the fetaphobes and vitaphobes. Unconscious of their shame, still it is there nonetheless, they imagine their uncomfortable feelings are caused by us, or their unborn children.
Imagine me blaming you for casting my own shadow. Even more twisted and delusional, imagine me blaming the child I want to murder.
This is the common nature of the left in all things, their reality is like a house of mirrors, only there is no house, and no mirror, it's all an imaginary and prideful drama played out in their heads, projected out into the world and onto others, to protect them from their own shame. It's more dramatically evident when it comes to their dream that killing babies is a form of health care, but it's the spiritual arsenic that runs like a stream through all of their ideation and thinking and policy and activity.
Two Words:
Birth control.
two more:
Tubes Tied ?
Don’t murder the unborn.
Yes sadly some are hurt by their abortion(s). Then there are these women who used their abortion to get their fame. They are hurt but will never admit it because they got what they wanted in life. Trust me they pay everyday.
Maybe keep your knees together and you won’t have to worry about ‘idiots making decisions for you and your sistahs.’ Rhianna.
RiHanna’s baby was unavailable for comment.
Morgana, it seems the Daily Mail UK is going whole hog on pro-abortion stories in the wake of these U.S. states passing laws.
Every one of these accounts seem to leave out the viewpoint of another party who might not agree that it was “worth it” or the “best decision ever made”.
Would you let me know if they post an article that reads “I killed my pregnant girlfriend and it’s the best decision I ever made”? He can detail about the inconvenience of “raising a child and being stuck with 18 years of child support payments” and how he “just wasn’t ready yet to start a family”, or how it might interfere with his career, etc.
I just want to know if the Daily Mail endorses others who make selfish and sadistic decisions against human life or does this celebration only extend to women?
Rihanna is due to release her next album at any time. Her grandstanding the abortion issue may be nothing more than a publicity stunt, so common with those in the entertainment industry.
These “stars” sell their sensuality. Prostitution. And they are being quoted as spokespeople?
It is truly bizarre to see black women defend abortion - they themselves are the primary targets.
How quickly that story died when the fake donor wanted to give money but only if it would be used for a black woman’s abortion; THEY ACCEPTED THE MONEY.
